Right, tot up your score, and divide it by 10. Look at the table below:
SCORE:
AVERAGE:
1-1.5: Novice computer user who just spends an hour a night on it chatting to his mates on MSN and playing Wolfenstein.
1.5-2.5: Advanced user who spends a lot of time doing stuff that's a bit geeky. You have bveen using computers for about 3-5 years
2.5-3: You have reached the Zen stage of computing and have advanced to a higher plane of reasoning and understanding. You also have a script that tells you how much porn you have.
3+: You have the intelligence of a pre-pubescent rabbit and need to learn how to do basic maths.
If you'd care to scroll down a few pages you'll find an explanation.

And a Mac is probably even less so! I run Linux every day, the ONLY reason I boot Windows is if I need Office2000 (which I can emulate if I want anyway) and Fireworks 4. It's much more useful than most people, than even I used to think. A Mac is probably the same. It's more useful than you think, but like Linux it's more suited to a particular task - graphic design, web design, etc... in the way Linux really well for networks. So, it was a straight choice between Linux and Macs, and I know that more people here have had experience with Linux than Macs, and ALSO, Linux is more available realistically. If you want Linux, you buy a CD for £3.95, if you want MacOS you *have* to buy a Mac. If you want to do it again replacing the word "Linux" with "Mac" and "GNU" with "Apple" then be my guest - the result would be the same.

x86 emulators aren't new, but MOST people have PCs and you can't emulate MacOS on a PC. MacOS isn't just an alternatice OS, it's a whole new computer.

I rest my case...
Also, we do have an I-Mac in our development, erm, lounge for testing stuff with. I don't think you can count Macs out of the equation.
> But if the OS in question has only been used by a couple of the people who I know will be filling it out then problems arise.
So as long as they use Linux, then were all OK?... Get to grips with it Rob, Linux isn't as wide spread for personal use as you would lead us all to beleive...
> If you have Mac you can't put Windows on it.
Actually.. yes you can, various versions to thanks to Connetix Virtual PC for Mac, which also includes Linux... I rest my case!!
>Put it this way: If you have an IBM, then you have a choice of OSs: Windows and Linux. If you have a Mac, you have a choice of OSs: MacOS and Linux.
Mac processors are made by IBM you idiot in fact the G4 750PowerPC chip is the same chip as the one inside the GameCube... Macs will run MacOS, Windows, Linux and Unix quite easily
Unfortunatley Rob you have proven my point of knowing absolutley naff all about Macs and their capabilities, do your home work before sputing off about what the cant do before trying to tell a Pro Mac user that they cant do this that or the other...
I've been running Windows and MacOS on the same machine as a test platform for websites, this is because Macs hold the market share in the US and Australia it's only in Europe where WinPC's dominate the market..
As for Linux, yes there are users out there, we deliver to them, but I wouldn't call them much more than a small minority and most of them are institutionally based and not personal home users. Again, Mac and PC OS's dominate by some huge percentage.
