I have only recently become an Xbox fan. I used to be a Microsoft hater; egging on the downfall of the Xbox and giving it rip at every turn. However, after recently becoming hooked on the intelligent and interesting magazine, Edge, I found that by reading an unbiased review of the Xbox and some games, it looked like a totally amazing console. It is by far the most powerful machine, and although I admit looks big, is the right shape and size to sit next to my VCR, and fit in snuggly. The games, I have found by spending some quality time at my local importers, were really good, far better than the top PS2 games, and for launch they seem really incredible. I have a feeling that if these unbiased views spread around, the Xbox may become the 'PlayStation' of next generation consoles. However, one factor I have run into when discussing the Xbox with my mates, is that, despite being a great machine and having amazing games, people are still incredibly reluctant to leave there PS2s (snigger).

The gaming industry is pretty much unanimous in the decision to hate Microsoft, something which I find quite absurd. I know that the GameCube and PlayStation 2 are both good machines, but the Xbox is far more advanced. Project Gotham whups Gran Turismo, Halo is the definitive shooter of the future, and with ridiculously high specs to tinker around with, almost every game coming out for the Xbox is above average. The PS2's software library consists of 99% rubbish titles. There are very few good games, most of which are on Xbox anyway.

What I want people to understand, is that they shouldn't be held back by their prejudice when it comes to gaming. The Xbox is the only console that deserves to be the best, and is so much more advanced than the others, should easily go down well with gamers. I want to see an end to this Microsoft hatred; all you people out there, you have brains, so use them. Anyone who has got at least half a brain will see that Xbox is the way to the future. It won't fail like the cynics say; it is far too good for this. It is just downright angering to see so much prejudice around, especially concerning such a great machine.

I think that some PS2 owners at my school have gotten to the point where no matter how they try to convince me the PS2 is worth getting over the XBOX they can't. So now they kind of mumble off when ever the topic of XBOX starts. One person actually walked away because I was talking to one of my friends about how good Halo is going to be. Another yells at me that the XBOX ISN'T out yet and that I should shut up. Their weird thing is that I don't keep going on about it.

A half wit who's a friend of my friend at school thinks that the PS2 technology is better than the GameCube. Honestly! Whats more, he thinks that the Xbox is worse than the original PlayStation! And these are his actual views. Upon presenting him with official specifications, he just muttered 'the PS2 games are better'

I agree. Almost every good PlayStation 2 game is on other consoles. Tony Hawk, SSX Tricky, WRC... all games are 'exclusive' because the other consoles aren't out yet. Exclusive merely means being out first on that console. Magazines cry 'exclusive' reviews all the time. But that doesn't mean they are the only magazine to write a review of that game. PS2 'exclusive' games are all on other consoles anyway.

And plus, the Xbox has got a staggering launch line up, of loads of great, properly 'exclusive' games. The PS2 won't get them, and that's that.

It certainly seems that jelously has taken over the fragile minds of some and has driven them to taking all of their anger out on MS's beast of a console.

Yep I agree it has the strongest launch i've seen. Halo, Project Gothem, DOA3, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Jet Set Radio Future(maybe launch title) and Wreckless, are all games that I want. Wreckless is a maydo game, as i'll have to read some reviews first.

There are also half a dozen other good games that are either PS2 games are exclusives. So X-Box has the best launch ever I think.

Errr... they're not a "threat" in any way. It just makes people feel insecure that their may be a good game on another console...

All these people moaning and taking pot-shots at MS are attempting to justify to themselves that they've made the "right" choice in choosing console X or Y over console Z.

Please Stick-X... don't humour him by making him think his argument has the intelligence to warrant a reply of this calibre... please don't!

Bah, I'm not prejudiced against Microsoft, I just don't like 'em.

Anyway, if I weren't getting a GC, I'd be getting an X-Box. I've played on both machines and the GC appealed to me more.
