right click on the drive you want to format and 'Format' is an option, but because it's the C Drive (which usually includes Wondows) DOS is the only way to format (thanks Reaper)

Heh, the one of the problems with Linux is that a simple "rm -r /" can and will remove EVERYTHING with no warning.

Heh, i nearly messed up my old computer doing this. The hard-drive is compressed and had soooo man problems trying to re-install windows back on the damn thing. This was with windows 95. After a while i gave up...then, a while later, i stuck a windows 98 startup floopy thing in the disk drive...typed a few things in and windows 95 decided to start installing at last...weird that..

Or more specifically:

fdisk - run fdisk from the MS-DOS prompt and find your drive. Then, simply remove the primary DOS partition for re-partitioning at a later date.

format - not sure, try format C:\. You'll work it out anyway.

Magnets:Simply massage with magnets for about 10 minutes. Job done. Ish. Well, it'll be wiped. Whether you can use it again or not is a different matter... Sounds like a job for the BOFH!

fdisk, format, or magnets, in order of preference.
