If we can get enough people to agree we may be able to get the kind people at SR to discourage the use of "txt msg" abbreviations etc.

Glad to see most of you agree, peoples bad spelling is bad enough without all this txt msg malarky !

Great idea - consider this my signature.
I can understand txt msging on mobiles - awkward keyboard, limited number of characters etc. - but there's no need for it on forums. You have a full keyboard - use the damn thing.
In fact I have a clause in the rules on my forum politely requesting that people don't use it - and they face banning if they use it frequently!

Worth a try. I find it annoying to read. Its ok for what its used for i.e. mobile phones and in chat rooms or MSN. But on a forum then I cant see the point, its not that hard to string together a sentence with out putting a ton of txt talk to shorten the amount of keys that need to be pressed.
