Armageddon
Pearl Harbour
Gone In Sixty Seconds
Con Air
Days of Thunder
Flashdance
Dangerous Minds
Coyote Ugly
All of these were box office flops in some form or another. Sure;y Bruckheimer must be sleeping with someone to carry on getting work. Lets just hope that he does not jinx Black Hawk Dawn.
And due to his connections, Bruckheimer is also linked in some form or another to other works of fart such as;
Willow (Starred Warwick Davis, who starred alongside Coolio
(who was in Dangerous Minds)
Being John Malkovich (Is based around two of his stars from
(Con Air-John Cusak and DUH! John Malkovich)
Kalifornia (Directed by Domonic Sena who worked on Gone in
(sixty seconds with Bruckheimer)
And X-files the movie (starred David Duchovny who starred in
(Kalifornia)
And Zimmer's score in M:I-2 was based on an idea by John Woo that Zimmer also used in Gladiator. So i think we owe Woo a big thank you.

Really ? I thought it was like really cliche... The only action scene I liked was the one in the lab where Nyah ( not sure on name spelling there ) injects herself so Hunt can escape, and for me it was Hans Zimmer's music which made that sequence anyway. Luckily Zimmer is responsible for Black Hawk Downs score.

Well, i'm sure you'll have gathered from dicsussions about films at college, i'm not THAT interested in the film industry, at least not in the detail that people like yourself and Neil are.
Can't say that i'm particularly knowledgeable on directors either, and rarely know what to expect from a film just because of the director.
However, I can understand the point you've made as all the films that have been mentioned were indeed preety awful. As little as I know about films, i'm preety sure to remember your simple advice of "there is a line I draw at films, and this is when Bruckheimer's name is on the poster".
But, one thing. Black Hawk Down? You mentioned it in the original post. Is this really the work of Bruckheimer? It's one of the few films that i'm excited about going to see because of the trailer that I found most interesting.
Thankyou for enlightening a poor misguided cinema-go'er. :)
Don't know how you can say AN and GF were just OK. They are Coppolla's greatest. PS: Thanks for Jeepers Creepers Francis:( (im being sarcastic)
And i already admitted that Mission: Impossible 1 was dull.
Thanx for the backup goatboy
Bladerunner
Gladiator
All amazing films, and Black Hawk Down looks good too.
> John Woo made great films such as Hard Boiled and The Killer. He made an Impact

Well I would have replied last night but SR site wouldnt log me on but anyway, I'm surprised you're proud of John Woo for MI2 - if ever there was a overhyped, effects laden story missing rubbish plot film then that was it. Face off is good though.
>Carpenter is responsible for Halloween
> and Assault on Precinct13.
Not seen these so I won't judge them.
Copolla gave us THE GODFATHER and APOCOLYPSE
> NOW
Godfather is okay but Apocalypse Now isn't exactly brilliant, but okay for a war film at the time.
>De Palma made Scarface and (COUGH, CHOKE) Mission: >Impossible.
Mission Impossible again ? Its like a competition between this and MI2 as to which was worst. Scarface was okay though.
When you decide
> to actually WATCH the films, let me know.
I've seen the films, how would I know what they are like otherwise ? duh ! Bladerunner, Ive seen the normal and directors cut with the supposed "is deckard a replicant" add on bits. I said Dogma had a good story - indicating I'd read it - but the swearing killed it, it added nothing to the story at all.
When you decide to actually READ what I type, let me know. lol :)
Seeing "Bruckheimer" on a poster means I steer well clear.
These films may offer something, but they do nothing for me.
He's the Ronald McDonald of movies, everyone consumes but some people feel sick and want something better.
Mindless stunts and big bangs obviously can wet some people's appitite, i will be the first to admit i loved Swordfish and i adore Honk Kong cinema. But there is a line i draw at films, and this is when Bruckheimer's name is on the poster.
