Why am I trying it out anyway?
The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.

Well, my PS2 is now for sale, and the dawn of my glorious Xbox day draws nearer and nearer.....
i could i won it for 25 quid...but i thought nahh....be better off keeping the money and getting something else with it.
what a joke...well i wasn't planning to buy it anyway seeing as i had read so many bad reviews of it...haven't seen a single good one yet.

Well I hired out Obi-Wan today cause after all the mixed views I've heard about it, I wanted to see what it was like.
I'm glad I hired it out cause in my opinion its pretty pants. :-( The sound of the lightsaber is really its one saving grace. The graphics are crappy and theres just something rough about the gameplay.
I also found that your pretty open to low attacks. The left stick controls your movement and the right stick controls the direction of the lightsaber which is a good idea. But to crouch, you have to hold down the X button. Try doing this while pulling back on the right stick to block and its not the most reaction friendly position.

Deciding it wasn't going to be a game I was going to buy (or play for much longer), I decided to enter a cheat so I could see the last fight with Darth Maul and the Jedi battle royal I'd read about.
I got my rear end kicked around the room by Darth Maul but eventually managed to beat him.
Doing the fight again with the crap AI in mind, I decided to see if an idea would work.
I jumped into the hole in the middle of the room - most that have played the level will know about the ledge with the power-ups. I stood on this ledge. From here, all I did was use the force powers to jump up and throw the lightsaber. I basically repeated this till Darth Maul was beaten. Sometimes you might have to watch out after hitting him cause he'll throw a little hissy fit and attack the edge of the hole a couple of times.
Once he's finished this little temper tantrum that he sometimes does, just repeat the process.
After this I had a go at the battle royal and it wasn't long before the crappy AI showed up. It came down to me and two other Jedi's left. They squared off at a good distance away from me so I decided to sit back and let them go at it and then finish off the last one.
I watched laughing at the AI as they simply just ran into eachother and watched eachother with no intention of fighting.
I made my way forward a little and started throwing my lightsaber at them. Took out one of them straight away.
The other just stood there and did nothing as I continued to chuck my trusty blue popsickle in his direction. After a few hits, he fell on his face and I won.
This isn't a game I'll be forking out £40 or more on.

Well Shenmue 2 is marked down for release sometime this year. And after that I expect Shenmue 3. I'm not sure whether Sega will release Shenmue 1 though. Perhaps they'll release Shenmue 1 and 2 together in one package to try and get people into the series.

Well Shenmue 2 is marked down for release sometime this year. And after that I expect Shenmue 3. I'm not sure whether Sega will release Shenmue 1 though. Perhaps they'll release Shenmue 1 and 2 together in one package to try and get people into the series.

As for the likes of my mate silent85 being worried about the future - don't let all this anti X-Box stuff get to you.
Knowone can really say its a mass failure, its only been out a short while. People are trying to shoot it down cause its some pathetic "in" thing to do.
Most are just following the herd with their opinion. Others see it as a product from Microsoft and because its such a powerful company, the media start flocking cause the console hasn't sold out within 5 minutes.
Remember the news about the scratched disks in Japan ? I remember the night when I was off to collect my new console, it came onto the news about the disks getting scratched. You would have thought you were about to buy some disk destroying machine if you'd gone along with the story.
PS2 had some BIG problems with a number of launch machines but was this thrown into light in the same way ? Nope.
What people don't seem to take in is that it came out in March. Its not like it came out at Christmas which is obviously a big time for console sales.
I can't see the X-Box crashing in a ball of flame by the end of the month like some people seem to like to put accross. Just look at the sales for Halo, they've already gone over the million mark !
I think the real run in for X-Box will be at Christmas. More games available, hopefully the online capabilities should be live and pretty much anyone who wants one will have probably their best opportunity to get one.
