No, it won`t be as lond as the FOG version.
Why am I trying it out anyway?
The XBOX forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.
Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest XBOX game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.
As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)
Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.
But then you try hidden mansion and things get very frustrating. Of course it gives out more money so to get a high score from here you have to keep playing hidden mansion rather than the first normal mode. Thing is you'll go into certain rooms with little space to move and the game throws a stupid amount of ghosts at you - you go to trap one or two at once and another appears behind you and attacks from behind - this basically repeats till your knackered and have to try again. It seems impossible at times and you really end up getting through on luck rather than judgement. The easy solution of course is to go back to normal mode, but when theres no hope of toping your old score, theres very little motivation in bothering.
As you said, maybe in a couple of years things might look a bit better in price and choice of games. But for now theres not a lot going for it unless your a die hard Ninty.
And I'll add that I saw footage of Steel Battallion from E3 and its looking damn superb ! ;-)
What you said makes so much sense to me. So, after a lot of thought, I have decided to go without a GC. I'll just buy some more Xbox games, and maybe a few DVDs or something. If the GC comes down in price in a couple of years, I might rethink my decision.
Thanks again, savatt! You really have been helpful.
After being told to defend ship after ship from being torn apart by Imperial forces when all you wanna do is engage a Star Destroyer or enjoy some great dog fights, I really found myself getting annoyed and thinking "whats wrong with those other 30 work shy to**ers defending something for a change !?"
In the short term, you have like this honeymoon period where everything seems great. Give it a few days and the chances are you'll start wondering why the hell you bothered. If it had a bit more potential and promise to it, I'd have more time for it, but overall it looks like another typical Nintendo console - new graphics and sound with the usual characters appearing. Of course theres a couple of other games such as Resident Evil on the way and then theres the "ok if we must" effort of online play where there looks to be around 2 titles coming out with the support.
Otherwise Nintendo seem to be very much lacking in any real ambition and are just happy to shove old characters and games in new boxes.
Cheers for the advice, anyway, Savatt.
I'll check out your post, silent
