Sometimes I think that there are people on the xbox forum who have forgotten that the sequel to the best game on xbox is coming out.

Yeah, alright, so there isn't exactly dayly updates but still, maybe we can all say what we want in Halo 2 and when updates come, we can post them here...........

If Metroid Prime was an Xbox excluive that too would be nothing special. I think I am one of very few GameCube owners who can actually see past the console and realise that there are BETTER games on other consoles at times. WS and Cyclone sound like a couple of jelous Ninties who can't get their own way all the time. For crying out loud look at what you are typing! Out of:

Metroid Prime
Halo
Halo 2
Deus EX
Deus EX 2
Operation Flashpoint
Doom 3
Perfect Dark 2

There is only *ONE* game worth owning and guess what... It is the only game appearing on the GameCube. It really is unbelievable that you can go through a list that is utterly amazing and say that Metroid Prime is the only original game. Operation Flashpoint is original in the sense that it was the first FPS game to include fully operative vehicles and a proper sense of war on a large scale. Deus EX is a bench mark game that managed to blend FPS/RPG/Puzzle Solving and Action into one title and guess what... It won 37 Game of the Year Awards! A game that wins 37 Game of the Year Awards is "pants", you are making yourself look stupid.

Halo is "utter tripe"? This one is killing me with laughter and it doesn't require a statement to back my feelings up.

Deus Ex 2 won't as it'll be just as pants as the first, likewise with Halo.

All Doom 3 has goinf for it, as far as I can tell, is the graphics and physics.

Ha, you cretin. Halo didn't set any new boundries because it did nothing new and nothing original. Metroid has remoulded the genre.

Halo 2 isn't going to beat MP either, it's just more of the same with different guns, vehicles and enemies.

I hope myself that Metroid Prime plays better than Halo because that way I know that I am in for one of the best games of 2003. Halo 2 will top Metroid Prime I can almost guarantee that and along with Doom 3, Deus EX 2, Operation Flashpoint and Perfect Dark 2 I can see it having some VERY good challengers before the year is out.

For me Mario Sunshine is a lot better than Mario 64 and I would rate that as the best platform game to date. I never got into Mario 64 and I was contemplating getting Sunshine for the GameCube. Looking back I am glad that I decided to not let the Mario 64 jinx spoil would was potentially a great game.

Until March 21st Halo will remain my favourite FPS game of all time but hopefully Metroid Prime will top what Halo managed and set a new boundary for FPS/FPA games.

It's nothing special, it doens't have any 'magic'

Mario 64 is still fondly remembered as the best platform game to date, despite being 6 years old, and despite the many new platform games since then, including Sunshine. Halo has already been out stripepd of it's title. And to be honest I can't see anything over taking Metroid for a long time yet.

Halo, nothing special? I can list about 3 games that I have played over 200 hours on and Halo is one of them. To you it probably isn't special but to me it is. I am looking forward to Skies of Arcadia but I won't comment any further until I have completed the game. Skies of Arcadia does have a big fan base but so does Halo and in 1 years time I will still remember Halo as the prequel to one of the greatest games of all time.

Actually I did have an XBox, but unlike super fanboy (in his disguise, Savatt) I didn't feel the need to try and post 'I sold my XBox because I thought it was rubbish' in as many topics as possible.

Every game can be compared. It's been over two years since SoA was released, and there is still a massive fanbase all over the internet. In a years time no one will care about Halo, and it isn't just because of a sequel, it's because it's nothing special. Think about it.
