What is a phobia?

Why do they affect us so much?

Where do they come from?

Why do we have them?

A phobia is a deep fear of a person sublect or object. it can cause people to react in ways you've never seen them before! Some times it brings out a different part of you! Why does it do that?

some people blame their phobias on past experiences, some... who knows where they came from and why we have them!

There are some weird and wonderful phobias out there!

What's yours?

Come on you can tell us!

I'll start....

Ok mine is quite weird....

I'v got a fear of....

Buttons!!

This sounds more like an obsessive compulsive disorder than a phobia.

Put it this way:

Take someone with vertigo and put them on the roof of a high rise building, some 20 floors up or something. Make them look over the edge. They will quickly become dizzy and nauseous, begin shaking and either run away from the edge or pass out.

Take someone with arachnaphobia and throw a small house spider on the floor by their feet. The blood will drain from their face, they will leap higher than the average trained athlete and tear their way out of the room by any means necessary while constantly rubbing themselves down and shaking up their hair, terrified that the spider has somehow, impossibly got onto them.

You encounter buttons and jewelry every day, probably in every room you ever walk in. How many of those room do you run out of, screaming?

i cry every time someone comes towards me with one on perpose! I come up in goose bumps! When i used to have to wear uniform and say i was leaning on the desk and sometimes i would notice i was leaning on my hand and the button on my shirt had left an indent i would have to go toilet to wash my hands over and over! I got put in isolation once because my teacher wouldnt let me leave to go to the toilet so i ran out coz i couldnt stan it!!!!!
