This does, however, go against Nintendo's own claim that it would be released in the April/ May period.
However, if any of you can think back five years Nintendo hinted at a June release for the N64, then spung a March release. Could they be thinking of the same kind of philosophy this time? (Only with a few more launch games!)
I'd dismiss this in a second if it wasn't for the fact that this date just keeps on cropping up every couple of months. Maybe it's true.
I won't get my hopes up, if I have to wait a little longer, so be it. Still, the sooner a solid date is announced the better!

Then they'll have to wait until April won't they.

I saw that too Dringo, with the annoying woman saying it!.
Anyway Ive my own thories.
I think Nintendo will aim for a start of March release, I also think that they will not mention any release date as of yet for 2 reasons:
1. They don't want Sony to release a 'Top' game on the same day for the PS2, to hamper sales. We have already seen it with the announcement that Metal Gear Solid 2 will be released on the X-BOX launch day.
2.
They want to release AFTER the X-BOX , so the excitement will filter away from that console towards the Gamecube(It worked in America, with Nintendo's shifting of dates) they also don't want to give any confirmed date in case Microsoft change startegies and release after the GC.
I think they will leave it to the last minute for a confirmed date.
Also, if they are planning a launch come March, it would mean that they are actually making European Gamecubes now!! They have to be, after all Microsoft started on theirs a month ago.
Can you believe it? Possibly somewhere 'Now' my own system will be created!! Ahem.
Here's to March. Or atleast a confirmed date.

Yes, but they could always take advantage of SR's fantastic 6month interest free credit option on all purchases of over £250. The'd just have to buy a few more games and peripherals to lift the price over £250, but I'm sure SR wouldn't mind.
But iwas thinking more along the lines if people panic buying. Or maybe thats the wrong word...hmmmm...close to x-box release anyway...
I suppose releasing it early, ahead of the sketchy release date they gave us, could increase demand...

Then they said when the X-box gets released in february????
Maybe the latter they were referring to the Jap release?
