"Gamecube 56k modem, will i get lag?"

When/if i do eventually hook me little 'cube up to the net, will i get serious lag with a 56k modem? I'm expecting a little bit, but if the lag problem is too big, i think i'll give this whole "internet gaming" thing a miss. Any help would go down well, i may even give you a half eaten bit of chocolate, but don't quote me on that.

People with the broadband adaptor will probably get lag on some games.

The reason? Because of you silly 56k Monkeys.

For Phantasy Star Online (the first online game for GameCube) you'll be able to play no problems as the original PSO was designed wasy back on the DreamCast, when broadband was virtually unheard of. As for any future racers or FPS's, I wouldn't be so sure. However it's a dead cert that if Nintendo release any online games, they'll ensure that they're accessible to everyone and if a game (say, Mario Kart) lags in 56k they'll probably ditch the online play.

I think you will get some lag. Its bound to happen.

Well on PSO you probably won't get lag but possibly other games. If you play any online games on ur pc and you get lag then u know what 2 expect.

if i were u just get broadband and buy the broadband version

well, i say they should have some games for Broadband only, some for 56k only, and some mixed, then you know what your getting!

I think the online games will have some kind of Synchronising tool to stop the Lag coz it would make the games go bodge.
