I went in there today and bought Project IGI 2 for the PC, and Sly Raccoon for the PS2.
Some of you will know that I own all three consoles, and as such I always have a look at every section to see what's out. So, after picking up the games mentioned, I went down to the back of the store to check out the Xbox and Gamecube sections.
Looked in the Xbox section and almost picked up Dead to Rights, but didn't. Then looked at the Gamecube section, and all they have is the 'Top 10' games. That's it! Absolutely nothing else, in terms of software. Plenty of other Gamecube stuff - cables, controllers, carry-cases and so on.
It's odd, because when you hear the staff talking, they always seem to speak highly of Nintendo, and - if the store is mostly empty - they're always playing on the Gamecube demo pod, or a GBA. Today they were pushing pre-orders of the GBA-SP.
Strange, then, that they seem to have no desire to push the GC and its software. I know the games are a little slow arriving, but there are more than ten games available.

Even me.
Damn you.

GAME are a bit of a rip off, but unfortunately they are my local shop, and by local I mean 20 miles away. So I dont really have much of an option. I'm thinking of starting to order from SR regularly, but for the sake of a few quid, I would rather just go to GAME and get it a lot quicker.

Well I know someone that has so it can't be that far fetched.
As for GAME, I was quite impressed with the amount of space that Cube has at my local store. There's 3 shelves for games, 1 shelf at the front of the shop for new Cube releases and then about 3 other shelves with Cube deals on.
It certainly is an issue, but then, Nintendo have space for the Gameboy too, and if both areas were combined, they actually have more space than both Sony and Microsoft in my local store.
Incidentally, I was the first in my area to buy a PS2. My friends aren't rich, so I'm a little more well off than they are. I was the only one who could afford it at £300.
Also, my friends made the decision to buy a PS2 when it was £200 because one of them had played on mine, and really liked it. He bought one at £200, and showed it to another friend, who also bought one - and so on.
The argument that someone would spend £200 on something they don't want, just to fit in the crowd is stupid.
Don't trust what any of them say anyway. Barhhh

Trust me. These are the same people that dismiss the GameCube for being too 'kiddy', the X-Box for being too big, and so on. They don't make the PS2 a bad console - it's just naive to say that most PS2 owners bought the console on informed and independent grounds. I know I didn't, and you didn't - but that doesn't disguise the fact that lots of people did.

And who's to say his opinion of their opinions being stupid is worse than your opinion that their opinions may not be stupid?
Ignore me. I am angry.

I've owned a PS2 for about a year and a bit. I think it's better than the X-Box (by a fair way), but worse than the GameCube. Already, since May 3rd 2002, I own more GameCube games than I do PS2. Why? Because the overall quality is consistent and better with Nintendo's machine. There's a lot the PS2 has wrong with it, as well as good points, and the fact is - people DO buy it for stupid reasons. It's just life.
