"Grand Theft Auto 3 -- Is flying the DODO far impossible?"

I am at the third island, not by cheat or anything, but I can not figure out how to fly the DODO airplane. I have herd it was possible to fly all the way to Portland from the air port, but how? Everytime I take off the plane will go up in the air for maybe 10 seconds and then dive back down. How do you fly far with out the plane crashing?

quite a long time it only says seconds in my stats

For some reason i doubt you flew that long seeing as i just told you where to go to learn how to fly because you said you couldn't.

And how long did it take you?

It is a lot easier to fly in 1st person mode. Once you are up in the air properly flying, I keep quickly pushing the analog stick forward, then letting go. This keeps the Dodo in the air and also gains altitude. Don't go over Portland island too much because there is almost always turbulence there. My top score is 191 seconds.

oh my god, 178488 seconds! i only have 6.
