I have a region 2 Toshiba one and that's the one that I watch all my DVDs on.
I haven't even looked at the DVD player on my PS2 but now that I want Region 1 DVDs, I'm wondering whether I should get the DVD Region X.
The only problem is, I've read that you need a blank memory card.
BLANK!?!?
This can't be right since a memory card costs 25 quid!
If it's wrong, how much space do you actually need on a memory card?
Get the DVD Region X (or action replay 2 v2).
It's a Toshiba. I think that's the model anyway. It's got it written on the front so I guess it must be. :-D
That doesn't sound too safe?
Errr....my model is....
I shall look....
I would just use the pad, and if that proved too difficult I may get that free one that SR have.
I'm not even sure that Region X actually *needs* a memory card at all.
You can update Region X to work with the new DVD drivers suppied with the official Sony remote using codes from the Region X web site (http://www.dvdregionx.com/), and then a memory card is recommended - otherwise you'd need to re-enter the codes every time.
But if you're using the on-board drivers and a DualShock, then a memory card may not be required at all, because you boot from the supplied CD each time.

DVD Region X requires 12k of memory card space.
That doesn't sound like a lot. Isn't there something like 8000k on the memory card?
Or is it 800?
All these technical terms. Are they really necessary? (No answer needed) :-D
DVD Region X requires 12k of memory card space.
