also the guy i spoke to at the tech centre informed me, off the record, that they wont allow it because the size of AOL, means that the ping rate is really high and so gaming would be too slow, becuae of this even if you have broadband they wont let the console modems connect to their service.
so do i get rid of AOL, which i think is great for regular internet stuff, just so i can play online????

None taken, ive found AOL to be the best ISP for my area, depending on where you live the connection quality is bound to differ, and as such people will find various ISP's to be better or worse.

Do they hell, for my £15.99 a month i get totally unlimited internet useage, and unlike BT they dont cut you off every 2 hours and restrict your useage to 12 hours a day. Also the helpline is free, and in my area the speed is really rather good.
It's reliable and never cuts me off.

I have Freeserve Anytime on this connection, but my dad has AOL, and thats where the GC is. Damn it.
