According to CVG.com, the next publisher to get swallowed up by bills loose change is bioware.

Look at http://www.computerandvideogames.com/front_index.php?

Doesn't make sence to me. What do bioware make which is really outstanding? Baulders Gate and KOTOR? RPGs just don't do it for me love, bar shenmue.

MS should just do the best thing and buy a stake in Sega, ensuring great games.

Thoughts?

Oh yes, I can see how a console that plays games only and has no inbuilt network adapter, no hard drive, no DVD, no dolby 5.1 in games, is obviously a greater piece of innovation than a console with all of the above for about £40 more.....

Nintendo have screwed up online play.

You always have to make your pathetic little digs don't you?

Nintendo may not be looking into the online side of things much, but when it comes to innovation they give Microsoft a good hard boot in the nuts.

MDK 2 on the dreamcast was prety good, but ranks as one of the hardest games known to man.

Back in August last year Microsoft made the first moves to get bioware, so it's nothing new.

Why ? MMORPG and persistent online worlds. Simple as that. Bioware's knowledge and experience on these are invaluable, to the right company with the right ambitions. That won't be Nintendo then.....

I thought MDK played terribly on consoles compared to the PC version.

A Bioware buy out would be ridiculous. Their best games are for the PC, they just don't make console games, Baldur's Gate was never going to work on a console. Dark Alliance is absolutely terrible, it was an RPG watered down more than orange squash at a school fair.

The only decent console game to come from Bioware was MDK. Other than that they should stick with their superb PC RPG games.

Before Microsoft made the XBox they approached SEGA and Nintendo in a bid to buy them out but both companies turned them down. It's rare for a Japanese company to sell out to Westerners. There are rumours that Bill keeps trying to buy SEGA and like you, I hope they manage it as it would seal the console wars in M$'s favour.

Bioware would be a sensible purchase. They make good games, over which they take time, consideration and effort. They're not massively well known so MS won't get much 'dominating the industry' stick - and with more money at their disposal they could be very, very good.
