!!!!! you use multimedia speakers with an audigy card! shame on you, get some heavy duty speakers and a nice big amp and plug it in the back I definatly think if you've got turntables you should get the Ex, very, very good, it's a shame most cards don't have phono connectors as standard
I hate 8mm, bloomin' converters here and there.

anyway, i didn't realise there was an OEM version, is it better than the CL 5.1?

hope you enjoy your card...

I would recomend Ebay (oh well I may as well say where from as SR probably won't mind as Ebay advertise loads with them anyway!)as I was on the sight a couple of days ago and they seem to be doing them for around about £55.00. I personaqlly bought mine on yahoo.co.uk auctions.

There are places that sell the OEM version of the Audigy Player for about £45, but saying where would kinda take the mick a bit.

The Ex is £165 with that very cool little external unit thingy. I got an Audigy with some nice surround sound speakers for Christmas and the quality is excellent, it has some really great features.

The only card I can think of like the one you talk about (an external box thing) is the Hercules Game Theatre XP, quite a good card, but most things are still down by the card in your PC, it'll always have to be done that way because of the architecture of PCs.

ok, i'm stoopid, get a card with an external box, like a midi out thing, very, very useful, better sounds, + it doesn't get interfereance from the magnetics inside your pc, you have a small card in your pc then an external box, i know what I mean, get a magazine like Future music (£5) they sell loads of box thingies (can't remeber the name don't blame me) you can get them for around £50, as someone once said, you pay for what you get, what a wise person, anyway, better sounds + they're cheap, but they're more useful for making music other than getting good audio, hey, thinking about that, I kinda wasted my time writing this nonsense, i'd better get back to sleep, safer there, but i'll look into it......

failing that, get the CL 5.1 (the £45 one) very good card, nice features.

what did you want the card for anyway? sorry, i thought I read the earlier posts, but I can't remeber, g'dammit.

£50 Audidgy? where?! me want one, although they've dropped quite a bit, I might have to upgrade to the ex, don't know how much SR sell them, my local pc company are chuffed that they sell them for £180, that's just the card and the 3'5 unit, *drools* it's very useful, although i'd recommend getting something other than the audidgy, some give better latency, although I got mine down to 2mS which is nice ++ ah! what was I gonna say? gimme a min.

Either the SB Audigy or the Creative 5.1, depending on whether or not you'll use 5 point surround sound...I've been using it for a few weeks now and I love it..
