.wavs....hhmmm, the MP3 technology is compression, doesn't really loose much infomation at the lower levels of compression, e.g. 300+ thats like saying a .fla file is better than a .swf, it isn't it just gets rid of all the editable functions, makes it cleaner and faster, sometimes it can loose quality, just depends on what your doing....

Thats confusing, Midi systems as in computer soundcard instruments or a midi system as in a budget hi-fi thingie?

yeah, you can get some nice MIDI stuff, we've got a synth at college that allows you to do anything, and it's old, it's really flexible, lets you make the instrument (e.g. how long the instrument is, how many frets is has...etc) can't remeber the full name but it was a Roland something, it was good, I remeber trying a 200ft long glass harmonica, crap sound but it was funny at the time.

yeah MIDI's changed a lot, really depends on what you have, if you have a bad range of midi instruments, put a live/real instrument in and the whole track can sound very good, most music these days, wether it's rap, house or rock, it's surprising that most of them use midi.

Hmm. I thought I never cared until I heard a good £500 Midi system compared to a cheap seperates starter kit in Dixons for £100. The quality was so much better on the seperates it was amazing - and I thought the midi was good!

it really depends on what your happy with, if you just want it for music, something to keep you company, then buy a walman or a cheap hi-fi from Dixons, maybe a 3cd changer....oooohh,

if you've got loads of money and looove music, buy a seperate rack system.

if your a looney but love stuff you can mess around with, buy some effects machines and some synths and make your own music.

I personally don't care about speakers, but I have 6 playing at anyone time in my room.

unless you want the best don't buy the best.

I don't know what makes a good speaker, i'm making some soon at college, sheesh, sounds like a playschool thing, maybe like Blue Peter, anyway should be intresting.

yeah your right about MP3s, considering their free it's good + it's a better way of putting audio onto flash intros n stuff, I don't think viewer's would be pleased about downloading a 1min .wav :)

did a test on that (very simple) just saved a 1.55min file as 3 types (just for intrest):

1 (.wav) 19mb
2 (.mp3) just under 1mb (945kb methinks)
3 (.rm) 248kb not sure how accurate these are, i deleted the files, but obviously you'd need to think about what the user's can listen to.....

anyway, MP3s are great!

I know it isnt, but I cant fault the quality from these - just as you can't judge simply by the height of your speakers, heh. I've only recently started caring about audio, and these are damn nice.

Aside from the actual accuasition of the music (which can always be burnt), I think it's actually cheaper to get hi-fi. Volume isn't everything, you know.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Impressive control panel
I have to say that I'm impressed with the features available having logged on... Loads of info - excellent.
