Ah go on.
Anywho, go to www.swordspines.com, and save that link on the front page... yeah, it's a big file, nearly 50 meg, but I PROMISE you it's worth it.
For those who haven't a clue what I'm going on about, or most of you, I'm currently animating the first story we all wrote together here on the forums. Go and download the trailer. Now!
Well at least start it. It's going to take a while, so get a move on now.
> Getting ISDN soon, will download then. 56k needs shooting.
More like eating :o)
Gah... alright, I better go put my blinkers on. Thanks. :0)
"Excellent, want to see the whole thing now..."
Thanks. :0)
"but there are some artefacts around the video, is that just my PC failing miserably at MPEG-2 decoding or highly compressed encoding? I's assume the former.."
Err... what? :0)
It's not really that compressed at all, so I would say yeah, your PC. I didn't really want to compress it because of the detail involved in things like the stars and the detail on some of the ground...
"How do I fix it?"
Press the resume download button, Sheepy.
On a modem? Not a chance. It'll have to wait until I'm back at uni. (2 weeks now guys. That's two more weeks till I stop playing NetStorm and start posting again).
Out of interest, has anyone tried using download accelerator? I've found it to be the single most infuriating piece of software I've had the misfortune to use. As well a 50% faster download time, and the ability to pause downloads, I get the following additional features:
Inability to load a web pag in less than five miniutes
Inability to play any sort of online game whatsoever
Painfully lagged out chatroom response times
5000% slower email send/recieve times.
Basically, I can't use the net while the damn thing is on.
I'm considering composing an honest expression of my opinion of said software, and sending it to their customer feedback department. Without swearing.
