And I'd get drunk and rountinely round up a lynch mob and chase the annoying newbies out of the village. Then we'd all cheer and go see LotR at Stryke's Cinema. Yay, it must exist..

I'd own the village cinema. LoL, a village cinema, it's a great idea. Well, in this little village would be Stryke's Cinema. We would only show films that I approve of, so any Spielburgs are right out. At the moment, Lord of the Rings, Spy Games, Harry Potter and Ghost World are showing. Step right up.

I would be the village drunk and would only talk to the other villagers on the internet and to the littl egreen nome in my front yard.

If I am the English teacher who do I teach? Is there a school in the village? What are the pupils names? Would the Newbies still be at school, with the regulars as grown ups and the Notables as OAPs?

Yes - what would a village be out without the village bicycle and what would a village be out without a village gossip.

Probably the moderators.

It would be cool if we all met up somewhere, be it the middle of nowhere or a Special Reserve store.

If we were in a village then I suppose playing Netstorm would be comparable to playing sport in the field.

We'd play that a lot despite there being faster, more intense sports such as Counter Strike and Unreal Tournament...

Most've us are too lazy to play it, don't know the rules (haven't bought the game), and I've got a bad leg (a crap Pentium 120 with no 3D card that is...), so that leaves the bigger games out of the question.
