I havn't been on these forums in a while and it seams newbies have taken over, but that's no bad thing.

Anyway, who is getting an xbox?

I hope many of you are, because in my view it looks like it will be the greatest of all the next gen machines.

I've started saving already, and got over £200 so far. Not bad seeing as i've got another 3 months to get the rest. I can't wait to play Halo and Project Gotham racing. If I've got the cash I might also get either Munch, DOA3 or Amped, I havn't made my mind up.

Tell me what you are getting please, and if you have already pre-ordered.

I know, shame really cause he sold his PS2 to get the X-Box, now he's going back to PS2 to get FFX and MGS2. Thing is, if he gets bored again and tries to get rid of it to get the X-Box, he'll have even less stuff to get rid of to do it again. I had quite a few PS2 games - I was hitting the 30 number. My collection is like 11 games now cause I traded in a bunch to knock money off my X-Box. So I'm not going to change my mind and spend the money I got on some PS2 games, otherwise I would have lost a load of games just to get another 5 or 6 back.

Well, he'll be missing out on Halo, Unreal Championship, Championship Manager, Dead or Alive 3, Medal of Honour: Allied Assault etc. Well it's his call.

Much to the bitterness of the retards who only wish they could be doing the same, but instead have to defend what they've got so they don't feel "behind".

Yeah I wouldn't change the Halo music either. Have a few tracks in my head that I think will really sound good with Amped and Project Gothem. ;-))

Imagine how good this option can be for things like wrestling games though. When doing a created characters entrance, rather than have a crap choice of original music or stealing an existing wrestlers music, you can simply use a CD track. :-)

Plus in beat em ups. If you could create a character and choose a background, it'd be nice to also choose a music track to play when you fight on your homeground. be nice if you could play online and the info, including your music track could be sent to the player your against so they get the full atmosphere of fighting you.

I was playing Red Faction on the PS2 (this was some time ago when it was first released - same day as the GBA but anyway) and "Fight Music" by D12 came on. I was very near the end in this control tower will all these gurads coming up the stairs. I went ape and killed loads of them - it was great. I've given up with loads of game sound tracks now as I prefer to game with hip-hop backing me up. Now that the X-Box has this feature gaming will be fantastic - and easy.

Some games such as Serious Sam use the music to give warnings of when enemies are approaching but who needs that when you are a "seasoned hardcore gaming pro" like me - and I'm sure you are too!! I probably won't listen to other music with Halo as it may ruin the experience, but PGR and Amped - definately.

Gonna pick up the soundtrack to Fast and the Furious so I have it ready to rip onto the HD. ;-)

No doubt Project Gothem and Amped will have excellents music, but it'll be nice to put in other music. :-)

I don't know if anyone will back me up on this, but has anyone else found that they perform better on games when an excellent soundtrack is pumping out ?

Like say you do a race or something with a crappy soundtrack playing, you just play through as usual. But if you love the music playing, I've found that I get this extra rush that really improves my performance on a level, FPS kill spree, etc.

I own an xbox, with project gotham racer and halo, and it is well worth buying. The games are amazing for launch titles, so make sure you buy the right ones for you, because their is a massive choice, and they are all briliant. Project gotham is amazing and a definate must buy. Halo is also a fantastic game, and should also be on your shopping list!
If you want you can read my review on project gotham, just to get an idea of what exactly you are going to experience.
