I chose this game as my GAD not long ago and it arrived Tuesday mornin', me thinks. I had played the demo before hand, which is why it was I chose it - platforming adventure games like this are my cup o' tea, you see - and Jak & Daxter doesn't fall short in the slightest.
Anyway, as I said, it arrived Tuesday morning and naturally, I played it to the death as soon as I laid my grubby mits on it. Playing it to the death is exactly what I shouldn't of done, I think, mainly because by that night I had managed to work my way through 70% of the game. Yes -70% in one day! Although, playing it to the death means: around 12 hours worth...NON STOP. No tea, lunch - anything. :D
So, there I was that night, in bed wondering when I'd complete it when I began to get a bit irritated by something. I was beginning to get irritated by the fact that I may have rushed through it and played it too much to get the most out of it. I was asking myself whether I should of saved it a little, just to appreciate it that little bit more.
Anywho, real reason as to why I have written this post is about to be explained. Of all you lot on this wonderful site who have purchased Jak & Daxter - how far are you? Did you find it too easy, like me? Or are you enjoying it thoroughly? Just tell me, maybe you'll be able to help me.
Now, although I may be 99% into the game at this very moment after having it for just three days, it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it - oh no, I thought it was wonderful...just, it went too quick. It's a shame, because if it was that little bit longer, then it'd be up to Zelda's standards.
Anyway, the other reason I wanted to post this message is for help. Now that I have EVERY SINGLE POWER CELL in the game, all I need to get (to see what exactly is behind the huge Precursor Door in the final cutscene before the credits) is EVERY SINGLE TINY PRECURSOR ORB. You see, even on 99% you can't see the hidden thing yet - all the cutscene shows you is Jak, Daxter, Keira and Samos staring into a mass of glowing white light and saying things like: "What is that?!" and then the credits come up! Aargh. And so I have begun my quest to adventure back into all the previous lands to recover every single Precursor Orb hidden there. I have about 25 left until, I predict, I can see what the characters are staring at...
But the thing I need help on is The Forbidden Forest - WHERE ARE THE LAST 5 PRECURSOR ORBS, EH? Any of you that have actually discovered every single one - could you tell me where the most hidden ones were? PLEASE?
Cheers, SHOCKY
100% complete. Done. Finished.
It took me 5 minutes to find the last 16.
Thanks to Crash, that is. He told me to jump on the plant boss's head a couple of times to gain the last few (Precursor Orbs)....and he was right, the little devil! :D
The I went back into Spider Cave and immediately discovered the last twelve in the bit with the horde of baby spiders and eggs and stuff; right underneath the entrance to the area with a tall statue in the middle surrounded by wooden poles...
Anyway, I done and immediately went to the end where the last cutscene takes place, just to see if the cutscene did actually continue a little...but Wookie was right, damn him. ;-)
I might start from the beginning again, just to see how fast I can complete it :D
SHOCKY
The Fishing game in the Forbidden jungle while simple was excellent, and too was the flying one over the molten cannyon. There were great and really enjoyable, i have not played such good mini games since FF7.
Anyway, i have left it at just arriving at the rock village, ill start playing again soon..
Brilliantly long, eh?
Meh - maybe I'm just too good a gamer to find
> this game hard :D Maybe it's the experience of playing all those superb Nintendo
> platformers that helped me along the way?
Brilliantly long by Playstation, not Nintendo standards.
;-)
If you played more of the game you woudl probably like it.
> Thanks Wookie - Now I have no incentive to play it again...ever...:-)
Well, is there ever a major incentive to go back to a game once you've finished it? Only if you really enjoy playing it.
When I get mine back from FatButcher, I'll definitely be playing it through again, because I had so much fun with it.
