Got Sonic Mega Collection last week, and it is a fantastic game, but should I take it back for Super Monkey Ball? I mean, I can easily get Monkey Ball 2 when I've got the money, but I really need some multiplayer action.

Keep Sonic and buy Monkey Ball when you can, I'm getting both. I think that everyone should get Sonic MC and Monkey Ball is just something that's going to entertain you for ages.
