My second's in awesome but not in great
My third is in mother but not seen in dad
My fourth is in sunny but never in sad
My fifth is a vowel found in water not creek
My sixth is found only in one day of the week
My seventh's two of three that you learn when you're young
My eighth's not in song but it's there when it's sung
My ninth's in eleven and twelve, not thirteen
My tenth is in island and river, not stream
My eleventh's in precious and secret and paste
My twelfth is in phantom and spectre and haste
My whole stalks the night in a quiet dreamlike state
With no memories the next day of being out late
Does this mean without being told the house number that there are 2 correct answers? Jeez my brain is starting to boil.

ahh, I see
you missed 1*1*36 though ;)

First find all of the possible ages that would muliply to equal 36, and the sum of those ages
1*2*18 (sum =21)
1*3*12 (sum =16)
1*4*9 (sum =14)
1*6*6 (sum =13)
2*2*9 (sum =13)
2*3*6 (sum =11)
3*3*4 (sum =10)
Since you he knowsthe house number (because he lives near him), and that knowledge does not help him, then the sum must be 13.
Afterthat, knowing that their is an eldest means they must be 2,2 and 9

because several options of three numbers can multiply to 36 and sum to the same elusive number?
