So whats everyone elses opinion?
Xbox 360 is good for Xbox Live, it's initially cheap, although the cost of Gold Membership starts to add up. It's got the far superior selection of games. But there's a question over the reliability of the Xbox's components.
The PS3 is superior in terms of technology. Plus with added bonuses such as the blu-ray player, it can't be beaten tech wise. It's also around about the same price as an Xbox now (the only reason the Xbox is currently ahead of the PS3 on sales is because of the initial release price for the PS3- it's catching up though). The downside is that you have to install PS3 games before you can play them. PSN isn't too great either.
I've owned both, now owning a PS3. I sold the Xbox because of the reliability issues. Nevertheless, I found Xbox Live well more enjoyable than PSN. On the flipside, I'm not too fussed, because it's saving me £30-£40 a year. I don't particularly play online much anyway, so the PS3 was ideal. Mixed with the Web Browser, for me, the PS3 wins. Of course, it will be different for everyone.
I reiterate, everyone decides in their own mind which is best.
1. All my mates have PS3s.
2. Built-in Blu-Ray player.
3. No monthly charge for PSN.
4. Metal Gear Solid.
