So I was wondering; what foodstuffs do you eat or like that others might find unusual? What unusual food would you like to try or never want to?
What?
We don't usually eat roast potatoes, but if we do I'll try and remember to try that.
Do you make potato wedges? If you do then after you've wedged them, instead of the usual 'tossing' in herbs etc etc before commiting them to the oven, try tossing them in a tsb of Marmite aswell....sort of gives them a 'glaze' :¬)
Weetabix and butter with honey is wonderful but some people give me funny looks for eating it.
My kids always used to have the same but with jam instead.
I'm sure there's some weirder food out there.
Also, there seem to be some foods that people think are weird even if they're not. Weetabix and butter with honey is wonderful but some people give me funny looks for eating it.
SuperNoodles and cheese (Bacon are best) probably oddest I can think of atm, but it isn't really THAT weird.
I use Marmite for loads of stuff.
Using it with some heated oil and throwing the potatoes in it before roasting them is pretty hardcore flavour (that's right, I did just "Jamie Oliver" it up).
Touch of it in a stir fry, dab the bacon in it before frying..... it's all good.
Celery sticks and Peanut Butter,
Marmite and Mustard on Toast,
Fruit cake bathing in Greek yoghurt ....
...... besides, adding marmite to pasta sauce is quite a sensible suggestion ... after all, it's only a flavouring and it would add a bit of 'umph' to a sometimes boring sauce!
EDIT:
Mrs DL has just chimmed in here .... pasta with a 'sauce' made from melted butter and a teaspoon of marmite, then mixed together .... probably had it for years by the sound of that :¬D
