In this topic I will tell you a little of each console mentioned above.
The mastersystem I was a good little console in it's time it had some great games out for it but sadly most folk didn't like the mastersystem I.
Why could this be?
Well for a start Sega was already starting to make it' next console the mastersystem II. Therefore owners were getting rid of there trusty 'ol' mastersystem I and making way for the next generation of consoles( hrmm) ok maybe not exactly the next generation of consoles but it's a start!
The mastersystem I was a bit on the large side and the graphics weren't that good. But the games were. I don't have a mastersystem I so a can't say anything about the games but from what I do know the games were almost as good as the mastersystem II, but not quite.
The mastersystem II however is probably one of Sega's best achievements with the exception of one or two other consoles like the Saturn and the megadrive.
The mastersystem II is a nice little console with some great games like Batman, Hangon, Golden axe, Indiana Jones and the last crusade the list could go on forever.
One of the best games is Sonic the Hedgehog, Wow! What a game.
The Sonic series is enough to put a smile on anybody's face, the last level in sonic 2 is a real stinker!
The coins system has always been a part of the sonic series and it worked out well because for every 100 coins you collect you earned another life.
But the mastersystem II wasn't to last long as there was another console on it's way the Sega Saturn!
The Sega Saturn has a powerful processor, whether it's a 12 or a 16 bit one I'm not sure but the Saturn had the ability to produce some pretty stunning graphics. More so than it's predecessors simply because it's got better graphics good games out for it and some nice little extras.
One of my favourite games on the Saturn was Sega rally; boy oh boy this was a cool game! Some of the crashes you could do were pretty awesome as well. I sat playing this game for hours when I discovered a friend had it.
But alas Sega had something else up their sleeves something that they would regret forever and y'kmow what that is don't you?
The Sega Dreamcast by Sega's definition is their best achievement. Not so the Dreamcast is a almost complete failure!
So what went wrong?
Sure the Dreamcast had the potential to be a brilliant console, but sadly it's not.
Fact 1: It had the ability for online gaming which offer's is huge for the gaming industry and the Dreamcast was the first to use the internet in a games console. So that's not it!
Fact 2: The graphics are excellent, so it did them some favours and they were able to make some good games like The Worlds Scariest Police Chases! But maybe they just didn't make enough good games!
Fact 3: The controllers seem to have been made for people with bigger hands. The visual memory unit was a nice touch but I think it spoiled the fact that it's a good controller!
So what's the Dreamcast Rolled over on it's back and died? Well it's another one of those thing that us humans call "A mystery of gaming"
Sega was a great company but sadly it didn't put in enough of an effort to make a good console, which is a real shame because Sega can make good consoles when they want to.
So this bring an end to another sad story that will be told over and over again in the History of gaming.
Thanks for reading!
It wasn't anything to do with what the console could do against the opposition, but what the name stood for and that there were 'adult' games on the system. Awareness was the key, awareness of what people in the media were able to do to people's choice and awareness of the way that games consoles could start to be marketed in.
Obviously, the Saturn having a difficult programming system and Sega's lack of support for important third party developers meant more problems for Sega in the long run. Pity, as the Saturn had some great original software and if that had been really pushed across to the public it would have made a difference.
Sonic
Sega have made 10 consoles in total!!! 3 before the Master System.
Sonic came out on the Mega Drive first (I don't think u mention the console!)
The saturn had a dual 16bit processor = 32 bits power that was capable of doing more than a PSx, but was soo hard to code for, and so expensive to make... there's a long story behind that too!
Oh, and the DC was genius!
But the rest of the topic was good!
Sonic

What's this?
Sega didn't make this game, and it wasn't released on the Dreamcast.
It was to be released on the DC, but because most preferred to play a graphically inferior wobbly version on the PSone, it was cancelled.
And there you have the incomprehendable reason why the Dreamcast failed. Dumba$$ gamers preferred the indian wallpaper graphics of the PSone to the next-gen super graphics of the Dreamcast.
And before anyone says: "But Sega got their marketing strategy all wrong" - this had nil to do with it.
The gaming culture had become so taken over by casual gamers that the new and exciting first next-gen console (i.e. the Dreamcast) was left out in the cold singing an original song into the teeth of an impenetrable wind. No-one listened, and no-one cared.
