*AHEM* Sorry. Anyway. This is another one of my banter topics really. Don't know why I'm writing it, I just am. If you have a problem with this, please feel free to send all your rants and curses to Grix Thraves.
I was going to write a largish post on the DVD Forum about whether Harry Potter is satanic or not. But I can't be bothered. So I'll write a little bit about it in here. I listened to a talk from the pastor at my church (it was recorded on a rather old cassette, but played on a rather new CD/Cassette/Radio/Toast-Making machine.) His views were quite extremist, and as a Christian myself you would expect me to agree with him. Part of it I did, but I think he went over the top on many of his points. What I did happen to concur with was that surely this sort of book opens a new...erm...fascination. As he put it, we need to have a thirst for God, not for witches and wizards (that probably goes more for Christians and not for most of you guys.) And it's blatently obvious this is not the case. *Looks out the window at group of kids walking along wearing pointy hats and casting transfiguration spells*
And here's some interesting stuff about the 'satanic' view. The 'person' or whatever it is that guards the Philosopher's Stone is 666 years old. Very subtle. Also, the Unicorn in the Bible is used as a symbol of the Devil. Transfiguration (used in Harry Potter books) is actually where a person becomes infested with demons and evil spirits etc, and supposedly, this Proffessor undergoes something like this, and my Pastor (who has ridded people of demons) sais it was a very accurate description. So what does this mean?? That JK Rowling is infested with evil spirits? Not likely, but she seems very knowledgeable on the subject. I could go on, but they're just a few I remembered. The last thing he said was that these books made satanism and witchcraft (which is very real) sound cool, which he believes would make God and the Bible not as interesting, and that these books were stealing almost a whole generation from God. Please remember these are NOT my views, but are of my pastor's. Please feel free to send your rants and curses to Grix Thraves.
I would say he was being a bit extreme, but he has a bit of a point, because there are many impressionable people out there. Your thoughts?
Anyway, enough serious stuff. Most of you will have skipped the first two paragraphs, and if you are annoyed that you have had to scroll down this far to actually want to start reading, then feel free to send your rants and curses, to Grix Thraves.
On the subject of gaming, Airblade, although an excellent game, is marred a little by the soundtrack, especially in "Downtown" area. The music's good, but if you play for over 10 minutes the constant phrase, "Flip, Flop, Flip, Flop, Fly!" (or something in those areas) can get tiresome.
Hoover. Vacuum Cleaner. They both mean the same thing (for those of you incompetent enough not to know what your mother uses to 'suck' the dirt, bogies and crumbs from your bedroom floor, a Hoover/Vacuum Cleaner does exactly what I have just described,) but why do both of them have two of the same letter, in a row! Hoover has a double 'o' and Vacuum has a double 'u'. And they're both vowels! Coincidence? Me no thinks so. Government conspiracy? Probably not. Goatboy? Most likely. Any other views on this completely meaningless yet original topic?
Wolfenstein 3D is one of the best FPS out there. No, not the latest release 'Return To Castle Wolfenstein,' but the games that revolutionised FPS'. It came out a few years back on PC, and although it is dated, killing dogs and Guards that say, "Hot-dog!" when they say you is still as fun as ever. Please buy or download this game now, do whatever you can to get it! Anyone know what happened to the add-on game, Spear Of Destiny? I wanted it, but never found it. If you can't find this game anywhere, feel free to send your rants and curses to Grix Thraves.
External modem?? Internal modem?? I spent the whole of Maths listening to Darkness_2K (who does come on here, and quite a few of you will know him,) sing, "External modem is craaappp!!" Yes, highly amusing for a few minutes, but when he starts to take other songs and change the words around it can get annoying. So which do you have, an internal modem, or an external modem? Which is best? Only time, and this piece of brown paper with a spot of jam in it, will tell.
Well, that's all I've got to say for the time being. I'd like to thank anyone who reads even a word of this, as you have taken time out of your life just to read something I wrote. Hugs and sugar to all of you.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
PS-If you did not enjoy reading this topic, and you found it boring, insulting, unbalanced or was less than satisfactory in anyway, then feel free to send all your rants and curses, to Grix Thraves.

Not really. If you know God, and you praise him, and you led a good, honest life, then you will not be damned. The main thing God asks is for you to lead a good life, and to praise him. I praise him by praying every night, partly leading a youth christian group and just talking to him whenever.
And how do you mean lead it as you like? The only thing God asks you not to do is the 10 commandments. I mean, you're not exactly going to go out and murder someone, are you Stryke? {:)

I haven't been on Soul Survivor myself but some of my friends have been. Its meant to be fantastic. You should have a really good time.

Heh, nice to see another Christian on the forums. Also, I agree about the scripture union holidays, I'm thinking about going to something called Soul Survivor next year.

"as a Christian myself you would

But this confuses me.
Do you feel you

I'm glad as hell you don't agree with everything

I guess I was trying to say that as Christians, we should both have the same views. And also, he's a very good pastor, and usually I do agree with him. This time I didn't. I don't think he's wrong...well, I guess I do, but we all have our own opinions, right?
As a drone, I'm not sure who you mean, God or the pastor. If it's the pastor, then no I don't. Usually I have agreed with his views, but this time I didn't. Well, not most of them anyway. If you mean God, then also no. God asks me to do things, I can agree or disagree. In the past I have disagreed, and probably will do in the future. But I try my best to do what he asks, as I know it is the right thing to do.
However, I am a Harry Potter fan, and think that its great its brought kids to reading and I can't really see the satanism in it. I see the links shown by Ant, but I don't think that the bible should be taken that literally. And I definitely don't agree that Christianity is dead.
