I was thinking of buying the Ultimate scart lead because using my curent scart the DVD's are green so I have to change the scart lead over depending if I'm playing games or DVD's (cause the game graphics are poor in the second scart - no idea why).
After speaking to the guy in the shop he says that the scart does stop the movies being green, but the picture is not as good. To stop this he's suggested using the scart in conjunction with DVD region X. Do I need this or is the picture good enough without the DVD region X as it's another £17.00
If I'm not going to view multi region DVD's is it worth getting Region X as well as the scart. The only reason I was getting region X was because the guy in the shop told me that just using the scart to get rid of the green screen decreases the quality of the picture, does anybody know if this is true cause I don't want to waste on Region X that I'll never use.

Only reason why I'm getting a new lead is that my old one has a

Is the ultimate scart a true RGB lead or a duff composite like you've

I have posted the following before so apologies for repeating myself but this may be off help.
Blockbuster does a true rgb scart with seperate stereo leads for £3.99. It is called a Joytech playstation scart lead - it is for the ps1 but works great with the ps2. You still need to get region x to avoid the green screen but it means that you can watch dvds in full scart as wookiee said
I hate to do sr out of business but this is a great bargain. I cant wait to try it with my shiny new screenbeat soundstation 2 I got delivered to my office today courtesy of those lovely chaps at sr

You already have a true RGB SCART lead as your DVD playback is green - so just get DVD Region X and you'll have top-quality DVD playback in full colour. I have it, and it *does* work.
