HI,
I was thinking of buying the Ultimate scart lead because using my curent scart the DVD's are green so I have to change the scart lead over depending if I'm playing games or DVD's (cause the game graphics are poor in the second scart - no idea why).
After speaking to the guy in the shop he says that the scart does stop the movies being green, but the picture is not as good. To stop this he's suggested using the scart in conjunction with DVD region X. Do I need this or is the picture good enough without the DVD region X as it's another £17.00

yeah, you can get a normal RGB scart, but everytime you wanna play a DVD film with it you gonna have to put the region X Disc in first.

Yes, Everytime you wanna get rid of green screen or play a movie from another region you gotta put the DVD region X disc in first.

Hello again, just a quickie ooh errr !! do I have to load the dvd region x everytime I want to play a dvd.
Basically I want to use a RGB scart and play UK dvds and games in RGB, thus I don't really want to use the switch on the scart as it's the lower quality composite. I've just phoned the shop and they tell me that I need to insert the region x dvd everytime I want to watch a dvd is that correct ? could I just get a gold plated RGB scart from Dixon's at 5.99 and dvd region x ?

I use the Blaze scart lead that SR sell. If you havent got a RGB scart lead Fangface then I would recommend this one. It has gold plated connectors which help improve quality or lower resistence or something. But its alot better than the normal lead. The games in RGB look so much better. I cant believe I waited a whole year before getting an RGB lead.

Yes Fangface. I have to use RGB to play region 1 other wise its black and white. I have used Final Fantasy Spirits Within which is RCE. RCE for anyone that doesnt know is a new encoding system that means that some multi-region players cant play the DVD. Action Replay 2 V2 plays Final Fantasy without any problems and with RGB mode being used. Fangface I would recommend the Action Replay 2 V2 if you havent got it already, as for the extra bit of money you get the cheat system.
