Can someone convince me one way or the other if to buy "Skies Of Arcadia"? I've read the reviews on SR, and I know it's a beautiful storybook epic of a game - but I'm still unsure whether the glassy-eyed characters and the relentless random battles will just get on my nerves.

Plus, you're bound to miss a few bits out here and there.... secrets and so on, you'll get loads of hours out of it...

It'll be the only thing you've happily spent your money on this year! I'd go as far as to say it IS DEFINITELY the best RPG since Secret of Mana! The interface is great, the characters are amazing, the game is long, but not weary and it never gets boring... you're so engrossed in the storyline you can play for hours on end without even realising!
I know FM and Grix come out with some pretty wierd stuff, but they're right... :D

Yup. The third time I've gone through it completely, just going through enjoying myself, and I've clocked up about 140 hours so far, just coming to the end now.
Buy this game!!

Just don't get too heated up about the battles.
