Some people have forked out about £45 for thisd, and you can get it free by typing in 'gta3' and downloading it in 205 Minutes?
This piracy issue goes futher than we think!
..
Well....
Work Time...
Protection still seems completely reliant on serials, and while several games prevent online play by checking the CD-key against those already in use, there is no such check for single player. Keygens and serials archives are available all over the internet and from any file sharing programs, and most people have no problem with using them to save a bit of cash..
they may even have gta london
It's
> not fair at all to people that shelled out the RRP for it.
But more importantly it's not fair on the people who slaved away night and day to make the game. If a new good game comes out I'm going to pay money for it as if it is good I want those games developers to have my money for their work.
However if its like a 2 year old game that has been bought by everyone who wants it I think piracy should be allowed. The games sold well, lots of money made from it. Discount prices are nice (ie. the sold out range) but maybe they should go one step further and release free versions on the internet? That would be cool.
People should be able to download GTA 1 for the PC legally now I think. Everyone has basically played it!
If you haven't already seen them, there's a couple of good websites where you can get some background info:

> how long does it take to download?
On 56k, Championship Manager 01/02 takes about 2 hours, whereas a game like Commandos 2, Return To Castle Wolfenstein or Red Alert 2 would take about a full day to download. A massive disadvantage with downloaded games is that they are normally "ripped", using a special programme, and so FMV sequences, audio and easter eggs (hidden bits, like a picture of a developer up a ladder in Half Life: Blue Shift) are normally not there, or you have to download a seperate patch to do so. I'm not a rich person, nor is my dad, or any of my family, so I either wait patiently for the game to come down in price, sell stuff (I have a side business) and just save up, or borrow it from a mate.
Piracy is wrong!
