i scroll down the list of graphics cards, new and old - i wipe the saliva from the bottom of my lip as i read, super-extreme-megafast-spankin graphics card, or maybe a 3.1 mega giga super-duper hurtz Pentium 4, and then it goes to blasting-shakin n rumblin mega sound cards. my lip instantly dries up as i look slightly to the right. mega-super-duper-whoppin-massive price.

it's a hard decision, i see something that would enhance my gaming experience by a huge margin, and i have the money - but i dont want to waste it on the item, because i care too much about my parents. i only recently shelled out 200 quid-odd for a mobo and processor, so i dont want to be too quick on the mark to get something else.

though the material used and the cost it would take to make these hardware, but they should be much cheaper than that if they are mass-produced. i'd say if it werent for the profit-grabbing property of nearly all companies, there would be an easier life for all of us.

true, true - very-high-end cpu's are bought by ppl looking towards the future, or power-hogs that like to do extremely technical or intense programs or apps. or at least that's my theory

A Pentium 2.8 GHz processor
512 MB RAM
60 GB Hard Drive
As well a nice CD-Rewriter and DVD player bundle as well.

It's a great PC, but to cut down on costs I just plugged in my old GeForce 4 PCI card which isn't the greates in the world but it'll do the job until I decide to get something better.

Well i've been looking around at computer fairs and i saw one last month at Don Valley Computer Fair, which was running and AMD Athlon 2400+, 512MB DDR, 128MB GeForce 4 440 AGP, 52X CD ReWriter, VIA 64 PCI Sound, 16X DVD ROM, 120GB HD, MIDI TOWER CASE, 56K INT Modem for £520 now that's in my price range but the only thing that puts me off is the sound card and i'd also want a DVD ReWriter. I also want to build my own but i can't be bothered with it at the moment.

I'll make up my mind soon!!

A lower end Athlon XP (lets say 2000+), 512mb DDR and A Radeon 9700 pro will do fine but i'm going for a 2400+

Cipro, so what are you running in your current machine then? I'm thinking of getting at least a 2.4ghz - 3ghz processor, definately a 120gb hd, 512md ddr ram and either a geforce 4 or geforce fx. It all really depends on my wages this month. I would actually love to have one of those alienware computers but i can't afford the £2000-£3000 for one, especially on my wages!

I was going to build my own PC, but I just didn't want to wait as I gathered up the parts so I copped out and spent £700 on a base unit. Best computer I've had in ages, and I don't regret spending a single penny.
