This is the face if a worried man - :o

And that at the moment is me. Over the past week, when loading a game on my PS2 it has been making a rather unusual ticking noise, its not the laser moving, its another strange noise, and it started to worry me. Then, 3 times during the last 3 days, when turning my PS 2 on, waiting for it to load the game up it had said " Disc Error" or something to that effect.

This has happened on 3 games, GTA 3, Pro Evo and Smackdown 3. Its only happened on these games as there the only ones i have played other the last week.

Im not sure what to do, is it just a one off and will the problem go away, or should i ring Sony, bare in mind the 24th November has gone and so has my warranty, will they do anything or will they charge me as i can not afford to pay for a replacement.

Anyone else had a similar problem, and what should i do?

Well the bloke who came never said anything about any money, so i never gave him any, so as far as im concerned i dont think so.

However i can just see a wopping bill of £200 coming in the post soon. :D

But no, i think Sony has let me off as it was only just out of warranty.

The thing i want to know is, do i have another years warranty on my new PS2?

Well my new PS2 came today and it works fine! Been able to play Pro Evo again and it was great. Also, being a new model it sounds to be a little more quiet than my old one, or maybe thats just my imagination.

Oh, and i also got a better pad from them, i had to give them one in replacement of mine, so i gave them one that had the rubbers loose on top of the analog sticks. :D

Well anyway, at least my PS2 works again and will work over a period where its going to get a lot more playing than usual, after all, in this month alone i will have 7 new games coming!

I actually experienced a problema a bit like this a few weeks ago. I was playing the PSW DVD, it got to the end of the Tony Hawk 3 video and then it said "Cant read disc" I then thought "Oh maybe a problem with the disc". So I played the video again and it was fine. No funny noise was made and nothing like this has happened again. Hopefully iam not facing a similar problem to what Pro Evo is having.
