That's right. Today is the last time I will be gracing you all with my presence through the international superhighway on this message board as a 56k user.

However, sometime next week (providing there ain't any problems) I shall be returning as a BT Broadband user.

Who thought I was going because of the cancellation of GAD1?

Go on....admit it!

Broadband is genius. You'll enjoy non-loading times on most websites if you have a good computer with BB.

Two wouldn't have been enough for us either, but one of us had the bright idea of using one on the main socket for downstairs, and one for the wire going upstairs - which actually works with the way we have out phone sockets in our house.

Cleverness.

Lucky! Our's came about 5 days before, and they hadn't got it ready.

And what's the jip with just two ADSl convertors? We had to order more!

If they didn't want people to quit the chat forums, surely they could just give out a game a week for forum posts?

Game A Day could stop all together, and I'd still be here almost every day. Yes, I'm that sad.

I'm on cable right now, but when I move out sometime next year, I'll be on 56k... urgh, I don't want to even think about it. Been using cable for about a year, going back will make me cry.

I'll admit it, from your topic title I thought you were leaving the forums because of the cancellation of GAD 1 but I had my doubts as you don't seem that petty. As for the whole broad band thing that's v.cool, I'm a telewest broadband user myself and it has been great ever since I got it...although I do tend to get phsyched out by the whole constantly connected thing and IP addresses etc etc. From my limited understanding of it I used to get sooo phsyched out but now I just firewall all my network connections unless I want to send something over msn messenger. Stay safe on the web kiddies! **Backs away from keyboard**

My parcel with the modem in actually arrived a few days before "activation day".

So I tried plugging it in, and they had already activated the line! Silly BT...2 days free broadband ;)

We can't get it in the area yet, but hell, as soon as we can, I'm getting it.

It's the thermometer thing - we need 400 to show an interest.
It was stuck on about 97 for absolute aaageeeeessss. But then, as if some miracle occured, it shot up to 272 in a matter of days.

Yay!
Only 128 to go.

I shall spread the word.
Thing is though - most people who use computers in my town are complete nonces, and don't sign up because they think they have to pay.
Bah.

Infact, I might make some leaflet things...
Yes, I'm that desperate.

I experienced BT BB for the first time yesterday. And it's great, except....

Stupid BT gave us the wrong package deal. Instead of a home package, they gave us some gay coporate business thing. It'll be sorted out, it's just annoying.

Love it, love it, love it!

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
