My PS2 has just died and I am considering changing to an x-box instead of another PS2. The only thing is I'd really miss playing vice city, so am wondering if it will be coming out on the x-box any time soon (if ever).

Also, any valid reasons why I should (or should not) change would be appreciated (I don't mean rubbish like Ps2's are crap, X-box's are great)

Cheers

Funny, I got a lend of a friends PS2 today(the lucky git is away skiing) so now I have both a PS2 and Xbox in my house.

And I am now fully aware of the gaping chasm of difference in PS2 and Xbox, and I'm glad I held out and bought an xbox because now I know I have the system that suits me.

I was playing GTA3 for a good while there, great game but I still feel its not as amazing as people claim. A niggling thought in the back of my head keeps saying "you realise you are basicaly going from A to B and shooting someone at the end". I know Its not as black and white as that and as I say its a great game. It could be so much better though.

I then played GT3- which stinks to me quite frankly. The intro's beautful graphics had me drooling, then I played the thing, and near feel asleep. I know the handling is brillient, but Straight driving sims arn't my bag, I'll take Project Gothams Flashy driving, sports cars, kudos system and far superior gameplay thanks.
(if GT3 does interest you, there is Sega Gt on Xbox which is very similer).

I love Devil May Cry on PS2, and i'm envious that it isn't on Xbox. But aside from that I can live without a PS2.

I will own all 3 consoles before July as well. My favourite console is the Xbox and although I play my GameCube just as much I will always favour the Microsoft monster. As a package I don't think you can beat the Xbox. Dolby Digital chip so most >> All games run in full Dolby Digital 5.1, Good quality DVD player (if a little noisy at times), Xbox Live for those lucky Broadband owners (should be getting Live within 2 weeks) and on top of that the Xbox seems to cater for my favourite genres in a way which the GameCube and PS2 doesn't. I sold my PS2 to fund money for an Xbox but I will be buying one again once my GCSE's are over so the choice is yours really. The GameCube has the Resident Evil series, Winning Eleven 6: Final Evolution + all the Nintendo Magic and the Xbox has a lot of VERY good shoot 'em ups' and Beat 'em ups' as well as some excellent Driving games. For me the PS2 is the weakest but you can't go wrong with which ever you choose.

FPS: Halo
Driving: Project Gotham Racing
RPG: Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind
Beat em up: Dead Or Alive 3
Platform: Oddworld Munchs Oddysee.
Sports: Fifa 2003
Others: Hitman 2, Phantom Crash, Mech Assault, Timesplitters 2

Loads and loads of top quailty games, I reccomend these at the moment. Oh and most Multi-Format titles are a slight bit better on the Xbox.

good use of controversial tags there.

I think the buy now pay nothing for 6 months option is sounding too damn tempting.

i'll be going for the ONLY remote :o( and the advanced scart, as i had an advanced scart for the ps2 which made it
10 x 6 to the power of 40,000 times
better.

games choice? so far i think halo, mgs2 and fifa 2003 (cos I haven't had a footie game for a while). i was going to go for splinter cell but i don't want 2 'sneaking' games just yet :o)

2) the dvd quality is better than the ps2s
3)price
4) It can produce better graphics, although not always used....

Halo, Project Gotham, Splinter Cell, Shenmue 2, Jet Set Radio Future... ermmmmm... the upcoming Molyneux games.

XBOX almost always gets the best version of the multi-format titles too.

The Xbox comes with the standard composite red white and yellow plugs.

The official remote is the only remote :-)

the two future games you mentioned don't particularly appeal to me, although I have to agree, there are many good games on the ps2.

I will miss gran turismo aswell if I go for an xbox, which I had forgotten about. the xbox has not yet got a racer of its calibre.

one more thing - as I am now seriously considering an xbox, do you get a bog standard scart lead with the console, or does it have separate audio leads to connect to your hi-fi - otherwise I'll need to buy one separately, like i did with my ps2.

and is the official dvd remote the best one?
