Also, any valid reasons why I should (or should not) change would be appreciated (I don't mean rubbish like Ps2's are crap, X-box's are great)
Cheers
> That and an upgrade for my pc, as I am DYING to play unreal tournament 2003 and c&c generals, and my lowly 700MHz struggles with the UT2003 demo.
Unreal Championship is basicly an Xbox port of UT 2003. There are a few differences with some exclusive levels in each version. I've played it and its pretty good short term fun. Get it if you plan on playing it on Xbox Live, otherwise i'd leave it and get something else.
And haveing played GTA3 I still think its great. I said it was great in my original post for God's sake. I retract the "A to B" statement though because having played it alot more i've began to appriciate it better. I still hold the view it could be improved. The blocky graphics and animation for a start. But the whole style of it, the nice touches and gameplay shine.
I played GT3 more- I still hate it. PGR is much more engaging.
And to show i'm not a fanboy know this- the PS2 version of MGS2 Substance is better than the Xbox version!
I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and go for an xbox. Two of my friends have them with halo, and I think its the thought of owning my own copy that clinched it. I will keep my old ps2 and maybe get it fixed in the future, the ps2 as a console still has life in it yet, I don't think sony have put a foot wrong yet and I eagerly await the ps3 too.
i chose the games halo, mgs2 (which I had on ps2 and loved), and fifa 2003 (maybe a bad choice some of you may say, but I really want a football game, and the fifa's i've had in the past weren't that bad). my next purchase will be project gotham racing i reckon.

Keeping up with the best games is a costly affair :o/ !
As for games you should own, I think you should be looking at these...
Halo
MGS2: Substance
Project Gothem Racing
Dead Or Alive 3
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Phantom Crash
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
Indiana Jones & The Emperor's Tomb
Splinter Cell (there is actually a pretty big difference in the way this plays to MGS)
Toejam & Earl 3
A couple of these titles are also in a budget range now so you should be able to pick them up pretty cheap - around £20.
> I think you will find that Driver 3 is coming out on the Xbox
Though I agree with what you're saying, I think his point was that Driver is very similar to GTA - and that Mantis will be wanting to play it straight away, just because it's an Xbox game. He was saying, to put not too fine a point on it, that Mantis was dismissing GTA because it's a PS2 only franchise.
His point is undermimed, however, by the fact that Mantis continually stated that GTA is 'very good' in his post and not once made a fanboy comment - he was just expressing his opinion throughout. That's not to mention the fact that Driver games have also been a lot deeper, more thought out, imaginative and, indeed, better than the GTA ones.
Because
1. It cheaper
2. Halo
3. An all round better machine
4. Better DVD drive
5. Excellent top quality titles
(Playstation 2 x Beefy Hardware)² - GTA = Xbox
:D

It's not fanboy talk. It's opinion - you nonce.

Ah, that was just like me. I used to think the PS2 was the best machine ever and nothing could beat it, I was a fan-boy, still am but I now see that the X-Box is a much better console, it just feels more like a, well, a gamers console.
This is just my opinion by the way, I don't wanna start any arguements.

As for GT3, the fact that even the mighty XBox has got NOTHING to touch this game means you go all defensifve, blurbing on about how good PGR is. HAHA, and you say SEGA GT on XBox is similar?!!!! What a complete joke. SEGA GT is nothing like GT3, both in terms of graphics and gameplay!! LOL!
Wake up and smell the coffee eh?
