Now the PS2 has been out a year it's obvious.

Yes the PS2 has sold more consoles, but the N64 was better.

The PS2 only has 3 games out now that I would like, Pro Evo Soccer, Silent Hill 2 and GTA 3. By the time that the N64 had been out a year I had half a dozen games that I thought were truelly outstanding, and considered to be AAA. Super Mario 64, ISS64, Goldeneye, Mario Kart Lylat Wars and Turok.

ummm - they consisted of Turok 2, Perfect Dark, all of the below etc.....(!)
The N64 got one of it's biggest games at launch (SM64) so what does that tell you about later releases ;-)

I could just as easily say PS2 better than N64?:
Want proof? My N64 has filled its dust capacity and there are only 5 good games on it, whereas I have a good number of quality titles for my dust free PS2.
Thats my opinion.

People seem to think that the Plastation 2 is better because of it's superior graphics, but that doesn't make a console by itself, alot of the PS2 games have been hyped up so much making people think they will better than they are and then us gamers get disapointed, it may just be we are so disapointed that we believe the games are bad. Honestly i would rather get a PS2 than an N64, but thAt doesn't mean it's better, the N64 is aged, so the PS2 is more popular and 'supposedly' better because of it's new blood.
I think Meka's point is that console wars arguments can't be truly won.
I think that's why they're more intersting in some respects.
It means to get the "better of" or keep up with your opponent, it encourages you to dig deeper and learn more about the games industry and you find out all sorts of things that you wouldn't otherwise know.
