Anyone know where i can find hardware reviews for the ps2?
I'm gonna get GTA3 & Mega Memory 16 (havin a ps2 for xmas) and i just want to see what they say about this Mega Memory 16 card...i've heard that saves have been lost with GTA3...but at £17.99 and twice as big as the Sony Memory card, this looks the better deal..just wondering if the thing with lost saves is true..
Thanks
Red Faction was about 2mb so between that and the dvd drivers half the card was taken up. Most of the others are only around 100 or 200kb so why others need such huge files is a mystery to me.
I can understand that POTENTIALLY SD3 could need 4mb but for simple saves it seems ridiculous. Once you've created some taunts etc I could accept it.
Well anyway, i was just gonna stress the point to people saying that the 8MB is more than enough. Smackdown takes up 4MB of your memory card! Which is a joke.
I only own 5 games, but i have only 200KB(yes 0.2MB) left on my memory card.
Madden 2002 takes up a lot for replays (about 2000k each if I remember rightly), but the general game saves fit quite happily on the card with all my others.
I do have 3 cards, though - saves on one, DVD driver/Region X info on the second, and a spare... just in case.
It all depends on what your games need, they last a while though, the cards.
good job its Christmas soon :D
> Hey i ended the arguing...now your startin it again....bloddy hell!!!!
I'm not starting it again - just thanking Mr Coates for clarifying things. The 'argument' is finished as far as I'm concerned, so let's move on to more productive things.
In answer to your last question, GTA3 takes 500k minimum on your memory card. Don't worry though, it's not as bad as it sounds - I have 17 games, and they're all saved on one card.
Switch on console/insert boot disc.
Manager screen loads, no saves for Burnout on this card so press start. Then select option to load game (non-specific, ANY game can be started). Eject boot disc, insert game (Burnout) press X.
Game starts then informs me that an 8mb card (or 16 in this case) is not inserted.
Same goes for Pro Evo and the rest.
I have successfully transferred files to the 16mb card and have successfully loaded games from transfered game saves.
However, I have not once been able to save directly from within games to the card - not a single time and that's using the boot disc before loading the game.
So, either my card is broken although I can transfer files etc with no problems or it's something REALLY bizarre.
Hope this explains to you that I'm not a complete prat who doesn't know how to use a memory card.
I'll be getting on to Datel to find out what the hell is going on either way because if you can save directly from within games then this card is a bargain (if long-winded).
Right, I have not been able to save directly to the card from within any game I've tried. That is a fact - I have not tried all games but if several don't work then it can't save directly from within games or I'm a moron.
I will go RIGHT NOW and try to save to the card using Pro Evo, Smackdown and Burnout.
Back shortly.
