Whilst the world is in a state beyond repair, it will not end in 2 years time. Bad things have happened daily for years upon years. The world naturally gets hit by lightning 1000's of times a day. This is just a fact, but if you told people it in 2012, they'd go bonkers and say it's a sign of the apocalypse.

Anyway, the mayans did not predict the end of the world.
