I'm new to these forums so I thought I would introduce myself before wading into a conversation all unexpected like... I'm 25, male, work in Leeds for a company with a pretty large website where I do general codemonkey stuff in... TCL mwahahaha, that probably stumped all but the most hardcore of you. I also know ASP, a bit of SQL Server, IIS Oracle... blah blah, and tinker with HTML and general Internet stuff.
You seem to know your stuff in here, though I have noticed in my lurking (oh yes, I have been in the background for about a week) it is getting a bit stressed in here, so I'll try and lend my calming influence if possible.
Cheers

oh...
I'm Andi, I'm a lil 16 year old.
I know naff all about websites just a bit of HTML and a little Javascript. I much prefer hardware, networking (grrr, bloody TCP/IP) and generally sitting on my backside drinking coke.
I too am a #leiden junky, usually idling while surfing for my latest fix of new hardware.
Look forward to seeing you about.
And yes, the weather up here is constantly bloody horrible, we're quite lucky today, its not pishing it down. Tis bloddy dark though...
Anyway, any hardware queries, just ask! :)
Andi
I work with Tyla, so see his shameless plug for details.
It's really stressed here at the mo, but it's usualy pretty cool here.
Need I say? Cold... Windy...
> Dark for half the day...
LOL, you don't know the half of it mate. Try moving another several hundred miles north to good old Scotland, it was snowing here two weeks ago, and we're lucky if we get more then 7 hours of daylight. :D
I go in #leiden on atlanta.infinity-irc.org (always) and #multiplay on irc.quakenet.org (sometimes)
Leiden is a bit less busy, we're all friends (supposedly ;), multiplay is the official channel for the MPuK events, so there tends to be about 80 people in there...75 of which are idle..

Hallo, I told you I've been lurking, I took a look at the WebTech site, yeah, it is pretty slow ;) Someone said that SR had actually asked you guys to do it, is that true?

Full marks for observation, I knew someone would get it!! It is very basic, but at work we use Vignette Story Server, which uses TCL, however we are moving to Java and JSP sometime soon. Yay, another new language to learn.
>Compiled, isn't it?
Erm, not the way we do it. A bit like ASP / JSP, it just get interpreted at run time. But we will be writing some compiled Java stuff.

Hehehehe, thanks *blush*, I just don't get enough time to update it. Is it a "Leeds style" site? I suppose Leeds does have a certain "arty-farty" style ;)
> Who's your company?
That would be http://www.teamtalk.com
