Also WòókieeMøn§†€® you mentioned the use of the GT3 wheel in Burnout? Does it support the Fanatec Speedster 2 as well?
If your cable has to come in contact with other cables from other devices (videos, stereos, PCs, surround speakers etc) then a shielded cable will prevent interferance from these....
Step 1 - Buy Region X
Step 2 - Buy Decentish RGB cable.
Wookiee, the cheaper of the RGB cables you mentioned (in the non-decent category) is still a lot better than the cable with the PS2 is that correct? If so, I may just settle for the basic RGB cable.
For a while before the DVD Region X came out, I had the Sony AV connector wired to my TVs S-VHS Scart connector, and plugged an RGB Scart cable from the other output on the AV connector to my RGB Scart socket. The sound was wored through my stereo, and all I had to do was change the challen if I wanted to watch DVDs.
As the AV adaptor costs £14.99, you'd be just better off buying the DVD Region X and having RGB quality DVD playback......
It's okay if you have two pieces of equipment to connect, but what you're talking about would mean constantly removing and inserting cables from the back of your PS2, which would result in a loose A/V port before very long.
The switcher box is £13.99 so you'd be better off adding the extra few quid and getting Region X, IMHO.
You can get RGB SCART leads from Game/EB for under a fiver, but a *decent* one (shielded etc.) can be anywhere from £10 up to £50, depending on brand and type of cable (i.e. gold plated etc.) and where you buy from. Check SR's cables, of course! :-)
If its possible:
What kind of splitter can you use? Or is it best to just keep switching the cable over each time?
How much is a decent RGB cable?

Yep, Region X banishes green-screen completely, but you do have to boot with the Region X disc before playing a DVD - not a great hardship though!

Nope, they both work together with no problems. You'll have to enter some codes from the Region X website first, to make Region X compatible with the 2.1 drivers that come with the remote, but you only have to do that once as it saves settings on the memory card.
I've put the updated drivers for the remote and the Region X settings on their own card, and it works a treat for all my DVD's - even the Region 1 Natural Born Killers I borrowed from FatButcher.
Is it possible to use the Region X to combat this? If I use the RGB with the Region X will the green disappear? I don`t have the region X, but that can be changed.
Also, does it affect the use of the official remote? Is it "one or the other" rather than both?
Thanks.
