All this ideas to make Monkey ball 3 better and the other post about Mario Sunshine not being a proper sequel has lead me to post this. I know it's a long way off but what should be in the next Mario game?

Should it be set in the classic Mushroom Kingdom?

Or maybe in a new location?

Should they let Mario use his FLUDD as the main weapon?

Or should he use his fists and legs like in Mario 64?

Let me know what you all think.

Mario.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No, really though, I dunno.

Something new and inventive - like Sunshine was.

Mario 128 should hopefully be out in the next year or so, although that's fairly unlikely.

Abstract levels.

Sunshine was the only Mario game to have consistant levels, and it just wasn't the same. You need the variety, some grassy hills, a snowy mountain, a volcanic cave, an under water mine etc.

And more stars/shines/whatever to actually find in levels, you could tell Sunshine was slapped together in just 9 months by the way that about 30 of the shines were received by collecting blue coins, which sucked.

Agree.

Disagree...sorta... yes the blue coin thing was all that was meant to draw out the lifespan but I don't think it was a poor game in the slightest... just as good as Mario 64.

Right Nintendo should create an abstract Mario game with some levels linear, some wide opened, others 2D... It could be called Mario in Time or something... and is transported to different eras, different style... variation and plays the best parts of all mario games in one!

Well one thing they should keep is those "OLD SKOOL" levels, I loved those...

I didn't say it was poor, I just said that after collecting all the shines from the 'missions', I was left to do nothing but collect about 60 blue coins (some hidden in the most obscure places), which sucked.
