I think I read on a site that you can race by yourself in a normal Mario Kart style.

Not really, I'm making a point.
He's complaining that Mario Kart GC looks the same as Mario Kart 64, when anyone with a grain of intelligence will notice that it's completely different.
And seeing as GT is supposidly the best racing game ever, I just thought I'd point out that each version is the same, only with different tracks and cars. It doesn't change.
