An article about mature gaming brought up an interesting quote.
A recent article by Yahoo quoted some NPD figures and in the article this was stated:

The last two "Grand Theft Auto" games have provided an immersive story with multiple coinciding missions. The next one is due out in 2004. A month later, "Grand Theft Auto 3" and "Vice City" finish exclusive run on Sony's PlayStation 2 and will be available for Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's GameCube. "And they will sell, like, a jillion copies," Pachter said.

The full article can be found at Yahoo.

Update

This is a quote from Nintendo's E3 mini-page, which can be found here.

"With mega-hits like Metroid Prime and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker already exclusively available for Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo is riding a wave of momentum as the show approaches. Industry leaders such as Electronic Arts, Sega, Capcom, Activision, Rock Star Games and many more will be showcasing their upcoming Nintendo GameCube games at the 2003 E3 Expo.."

Just realised that you put the same quote, strangely though Nintendo have decided to change the name to Gotham Games instead of Rockstar.

Very strange.

Gotham Games are also known as Rockstar,i'm guessing they've got a few games in the pipe line. Though to be honest, other than the GTA series I can't think of a single thing Rockstar have done that's really worth shouting about.

Smugglers Run's already on Cube and that's a big load of boring crap.

It depends whether Sony will pay as much money as multiformat sales could rake in

It would be in the greatest interest of Rockstar to sell the GTA series on all consoles.

Was GTA2 PSX exclusive? Because after a while it came out on the Dreamcast as well. . .

What Parr was meaning, I think, is that by the time the next GTA games are released then the exlusivity contract will be up, so Rockstar will pretty uch be free agents.

But the GTA planned for 2004 is supposed to be released on a next, next gen console, as in PS3. I have said this before but the next GTA game is supposed to be released in 18 months, as yet unofficially named though.
