Obviously, it is now my turn to feel ontop-of-the-world after recieiving my pre-ordered copy of The Wind Waker - and the bonus disc - through the post this morning -- thank you very much, Special Reserve! :D

I've been playing it all morning, since 10am, and I've only just within the last-10-minutes switched the power off, since then.
I should've probably gone to school, or there might have been something good on TV [YEAH RIGHT!!], but after Ocarina of Time, nothing's gonna get in my way of the latest Zelda game!!

My first impressions of this game are very good. Although, I can already see how this game is going to be rather simple and easy. And I'm quite sure it won't be too long before I tire of travelling everywhere on boat.

But the action's great, and the Link's swordsmanship has vastly improved since the 2 N64 titles. It feels fantastic stringo a combo. of slashes together, knocking the enemy back for miles! :D
Shame there's no Navi/Tatl to tell you what's-what, though.

The graphics do look fantastic - as you should expect, by now.
Some nice "fresh"-sounding sound effects in there too, as well as some good reworkings on old classic Zelda tunes.

I like that Battleships-style game you can play, and that store owner who puts his face inside those cut-outs.... Certainly made me laugh! :)
Don't like "snotty", though... What's he up to?
And why can't you use your sword on that gang of kids that chases you around?!
Good to see you can hit the pigs though. ...Untill they go 'ape' fight back!
But I'm still not sure at how the actual Wind Waker works...?
I also found moving Link around quite 'different' to what it felt like in the N64 games. Good control system, though.

But where's Zelda this time??

It's certainly enjoyable, and like almost any-other Zelda game, this is gonna be one I won't want to be finished anytime-soon!
I wouldn't call it an "Ocarina of Time-beater"...
But it feels just as good to play - just because it's Zelda!

I'm happy. And I probably won't touch the bonus disc for months!
Looks like Metroid Prime will also be going un-finished, while this is around! :)

Rickoss, don't count your chickens until they've hatched.

I'd say more but would end up giving away plot points and that would be gay.

It's not just Zelda who's one of the main characters missing... the other main character not being there makes it feel to different.

I am disappointed that they removed the flip from the autojump, that was present in MM.
That was great.

Probably just NGC's poor DVD quality.

I haven't really looked for any side-quests on Windfall Island, yet.
I'm just trying to get through the bits I already know about, first - like the things I've seen on NGC's DVD. Then I'll take it steadier, and explore a bit more.

Yeah - I forgot about them, aswell! :)

It's dissapointing you don't quite get the same effects when using an enemy's sword you've just picked-up, though. They must be too-big for little Link?

I was also expecting the big-bird-thing to be the main boss, pathetically, after seeing an absense of "him" in Majora's Mask.
He doesn't appear to have aged at all, though, does he!?

And is it just me, or is this European version graphically even better than the Japanese version NGC used in their last DVD?!
The wind looks so much nicer and clearer, to me...

I'm guessing that if you're already got the Wind Waker that you probably missed out the side quests on Windfall Island?

Trust me, there's some classics.

I actually enjoy the boat riding, fair enough it gets a little dull on big stretches of open water but once you get further in you start to realise the shear size of your surroundings and how many secrets and side quests there are to uncover. Also the fact that you're free to go anywhere you want on the ocean, means there's a hell of a lot of exploring to be done.

*spoiler*

I was cruising around last night, visiting a few random islands and I ran into a ghost ship, me thinks it's got something to do with a side quest as the guy in the pictograph shop on windfall Island was saying something about finding it's path and getting some treasure.

Please don't tell me if you know what it's there for, I want to find out for myself.

Oh, and I don't know about you, but I really felt the adventure start to 'come-alive' from the moment Link's sister was captured. Not from the moment the bird swoops-down and snatches her, but...

Link's off-screen, you hear him draw his sword, and suddenly the camera spind to find Link running after the thing - that's when it all starts, for me! Fantastic stuff! :)

Knew I'd forget something! :)

The new parry moves are an excellent addition to the fighting.
