As you may have heard, there's a lot going on console wise in America at the moment.

Gamecube is being launched.
X-Box is being launched.
Metal Gear Solid 2... should be out soon.

So it's all a bit hectic over there... people pre-ordering madly, phoning shops and shouting at staff...

And what do Nintendo do?

They contact all the shops, and tell them that they can sell the Gamecubes as soon as they arrive. Which happens to be... now.

So it's all a bit mad over there at the moment.

What a fantasic approach to marketing your console - lull your opponent into a false sense of security then tell shops to give your consoles to customers straight from the back of the lorry.

Yikes.

Hopefully Nintendo will panic in a similar way in Spring time.

SR will be able to dish out the over sized duplo bricks a little earlier...
