Dad's washing car out in quiet street

" Dad can I practice my clutch control in the car? "

" You're not insured "

" I know but I'll only be moving a few metres back and forward "

" Aye alright then "

I do okay at clutch control

" Want to turn up the next street "

" Sure? "

" Yeah "

---

Disaster strikes... kids kicking football on next street, car comes flying towards me... I'm going up hill and don't give enough gas... panic and stall the car for the first time ever.

Then I can't turn the key... it won't turn on... then I can't find reverse because I've never driven in the new car before.

Argh horrible.

" Right for god sake.. start it up... right I'm taking over "

" Sorry dad "

And now my driving confidence is in ruins

I'm 15 too but don't go quad biking and stuff. The closest to driving I get to do is in our second car (Mondeo...) in an old Air Base that is owned by a friend of my parents. I haven't stalled it yet but I'm always going into reverse instead of forwad lol I should really work on it before I go into a wall backwards.

I can't wait 'til I start driving. I'm only 15, but I'm really anxious. I love anything that involves driving or controlling somethign that you sit on/in. My favourite activities are quad biking and karting.

Tut tut tut Sheepy. If you aren't insure then you shouldn't be driving on public streets. My parents said they would buy me an Audi TT as my first car but I have to pay the insurance which I obviously wont be able to afford. If I can't drive an Audi with out insurance then no one should drive with out it! Bah humbug and other phrases to that effect.

Excuses for humans, street-footballers be.

(I'm being ever so harsh today)

I wouldn't worry about it though, you'll probably pass the end exam with the metaphorical colours all flying.

Hey, compared to me that's a picnic. On my first test, I pulled out in front of a lorry, and almost hit another car when doing the reversing into a parking bay thingy. Two dangerous errors, thank ye, and that's a fail for you. My confidence was shattered, but three weeks later I was back and passed with 6 minors. So, confidence goes with everyone who's learning to drive and it always comes back, so don't worry. I passed in September 2002 and I stalled yesterday at a mini roundabout...Hmm... :D

My mum and dad were out last night, when they got back I was watching VH1 some best air guitars thing was on.

Dad comes in with his guitar and a drunk look on his face.

"Lets Jam.."

After a while I realise he aint gonna go so I pick up guitar and play a bit.
Was saved when mum offered him toast.

I also remember once I passed my test I got insured on my dads car. A hyundia Sonata was what he had at the time and it was cool to drive, but compared to the corsa I learned in it was a tank.

First time I drove it he kept moaning about how I was to near to parked cars.
"I'm driving... You wanna walk home?"

Don't worry bout stalling, worry more about crashing on your test.

In the paper a few weeks ago there was a story about this girl who crashed on here test at a pedestrian crossing and hit a woman.
