Damn dirty zombies!

Why do I panic so much when they start to speed up as they approach me?

Why does my aim go all skew-iffy, and why can't I blow their zombie heads off?

I'm not talking about a Resident Evil title here, or any other survival horror. No. What's giving me the creeps big-time, are those damn zombies on Conker's Bad Fur Day!

When I first encountered them I struggled to get used to the controls, using the gun and stuff, but I soon got first those first pesky zombies. I thought they were gone, and I wouldn't have to deal with them again, but no. After the excellent 'bat-bit' in which you have to capture people ias a bat, and drop them into a mincer, those bloody zombies come back!

it was only last night that i discovered this, and probably won't get a chance to play the game in a great hurry, so I'm left thinking about those awful zombies.

The thing is, they're not exactly human zombies, they're fluffy cuddly zombies. With eye sockets hanging out.

But still, they look genuinely gruesome.

Maybe it has something to do with the general 'cuddly' look to the game, with Conker himself looking very sweet and innocent, and enemies including wasps and dung-beetles, that hardly look threatening. Maybe it's the stark contrast with those horrid zombies, that look so grim, with bloody tufts of cuddly hair, and they way they will keep coming at you, even if they have to crawl until you blow their heads off.

What I really think does it is the sound though. The way you can hear the zombies groan, but you might not be able to see them. you know they're hiding, but where? And the music is downright creepy, including a babies laugh every now and then.

So if I can't handle Rare's vision of CBFD zombies, how the heck am I going to deal with the undead on Eternal Darkness?

Does that say anything to anyone about PS2 games?

"Just another one on the pile?"

Eternal Darkness looks good, it sounds fun, why not talk about such games?

ED is different... With Conker I was in pieces lauhgin at the Zombies - With ED, the Warrior guy does the worrying for you, have you seen his facial expressions?!

LOL!

Anyway... just shít on the Conker Zombies and they're dazed, then pick them up and feed the guy.. you only need to do it about 5 times - I think.

Haven't played that game for ages... I haven't played Bond either... If only there were 'bots' on Goldeneye - then it would be perfect. Didn't like PD much.

I can't wait for Metroid Prime, that'll be good. Cross Star Wars with Alien and Starship troopers - Woo!

Same here.

Zombie is ahead of me. I can actually see him this time.

Ok. Take aim. Takes a few seconds because I really can't get used to aiming with the darn control stick. Same with Goldeneye, I just shoot madly.

Ok, I'm taking aim, and the zombie begins to run towards me... arggh! Shoot! Shoot now!

I shoot... and miss the head entirely, and just fire the shell into it's chest, which does all.

Firing madly now, just pulling the trigger as fast as I can... and before I know it, it's already on me, munching at my head. Damn.

Worse still is when you hear them but can't see them. A dodgy camera angle later, and the sodding thing is on top of you before you get a chance to even aim.

Very hard. Good fun though.

I know the feeling being the forum Conker expert (www.conkula.com my almighty web site) i found it hard the bit where you need to collect the keys is very hard and just tacks pesistance just shoot at them if you miss... RUN!

As for the first bit all you needed to do was stand on a grave stone they'll run towards you but can't get you all you needed to do was aimd own and shoot that makes that very easy.

Oh and Meka your Notable Hunter Story will appear in series 2 of the NHS sereis the next story will either be The Hunter becoems the hunted or Death to Dringo depending if I win the election or not.
