Why do I panic so much when they start to speed up as they approach me?
Why does my aim go all skew-iffy, and why can't I blow their zombie heads off?
I'm not talking about a Resident Evil title here, or any other survival horror. No. What's giving me the creeps big-time, are those damn zombies on Conker's Bad Fur Day!
When I first encountered them I struggled to get used to the controls, using the gun and stuff, but I soon got first those first pesky zombies. I thought they were gone, and I wouldn't have to deal with them again, but no. After the excellent 'bat-bit' in which you have to capture people ias a bat, and drop them into a mincer, those bloody zombies come back!
it was only last night that i discovered this, and probably won't get a chance to play the game in a great hurry, so I'm left thinking about those awful zombies.
The thing is, they're not exactly human zombies, they're fluffy cuddly zombies. With eye sockets hanging out.
But still, they look genuinely gruesome.
Maybe it has something to do with the general 'cuddly' look to the game, with Conker himself looking very sweet and innocent, and enemies including wasps and dung-beetles, that hardly look threatening. Maybe it's the stark contrast with those horrid zombies, that look so grim, with bloody tufts of cuddly hair, and they way they will keep coming at you, even if they have to crawl until you blow their heads off.
What I really think does it is the sound though. The way you can hear the zombies groan, but you might not be able to see them. you know they're hiding, but where? And the music is downright creepy, including a babies laugh every now and then.
So if I can't handle Rare's vision of CBFD zombies, how the heck am I going to deal with the undead on Eternal Darkness?
Come on i challange thee to argue.
ooo I love to argue, especially when I'm on the winning side :-)
Code Veronica had angles that "switch" and "swoop" and followed you to get the best viewpoint, I'm unsure about the remake but it's all been done before, As for the sanity meter Fear Effect was the first game to bring that kinda thing into games so it's hardly original.
I can't see anything standing up to the remake, The story is probably the best in videogames and has more depth than the grand canyon, There's only a few pictures of the zombies so far but can you imagine what Plant 42 looks like no the spiders, the Snake, the sharks, no wait the TYRANT, ED has these naff zombies and this black butterfly that shoots stuff at you *tut* BORING :-)
One thing Resident Evil has always suffered from is not enough moves, Nemesis had the dodge and the 180 spin but from what Ive heard the remake has everything, I've even seen a picture of Chris trying to escape a hunter from the floor!!
If you can think of anything that suppasses Eternal Darkness over Resident Evil then I'd love to hear it but until then check out Rammy's site to see what all the fuss is about and be sure to watch the intro ;-)

Bring it on i know sooo much about my most anticipated game of all time. ED is about tor evolutionise the Survival Horror Genre i like RE i will get it and it is more popular than ED hence the number 9 position but my friend ED will beat it up to 60 hours gameplay, fixed angles that dont switch but swoop, the infamous sanity meter, the fact every Zombie looks different, you wonder whats real or not, a stunning and disturbing stortyline in fact everything RE does ED does better but the fundimental difference is that RE is tongue in cheek ED is psychological.
Come on i challange thee to argue.
It's incredibly short, it just didn't last long enough. And the fact that I went and completed it in 7 hours second go was taking the p!$$.
Anywho, the zombies bit.
I agree, very insettling indeed, I found myself jumping in fright as a zomie jumps out at me and moans its petrifying moan...
All I suggest is you do what I did - run forwards,. ignoring all the noises of zombies rising from their graves, turn around, run back past them all back to the gate and then take careful aim as they slwoy creep towards you...
It worked for me, after I got used to the controls...
:D
SHOCKY
Atleast on Resident Evil, when you blow them away they stay dead. On Conker, you blow them away, grab the key, only to find that they've re-materialised again!
Argh!
By the way Meka, you seem to be going at a crawling zombies pace! It was when I first got the game when you mentioned meeting them in the graveyard.
The Game gave you a quick tip and you'd done it.
A whole month later and you're still in the vampires house.
I guess I don't envy being a married father with 2 kids just yet, not if it leaves you with little time for gaming...
I think people took what I said the wrong way, See on the PS1 and PS2 theres bags of these games, Alone in the dark, parasite eve, resident evil, silent hill, onimusha, devil may cry etc so another one, however good it was would just add to the collection. On a Nintendo there aren't many of these so it stands out a bit more especially because it's made by Nintendo or a second party rather.
see?
Well, I s'pose you could just not buy Eternal Darkness, but thats outta the question.
Hmm. Toughie.. Maybe, don't look when you hear that dragging of their feet, and you know its coming, Zombies, you run and run but they don't stop, not even for the toilet...
I think I got a bit carried away there :o)
its a Psychilogical thriller never done before and its amde by Nitnendo's SEcond
> Party Silicon Knights and Nintendo and Co very Rarley Dissapoint ED will thrash
> Resident Evil.
Thats the funniest thing I've ever heard, Biohazard is currently sitting at number 9 in the Japanese most wanted and it'll continue to rise, Eternal darkness isn't anywhere in sight.
I could think of 1000 comments to say but I find laughing at your stupidity is far more amusing :-D
